Trendology: Dirk Bikkembergs Sport Couture S/S 2011 Collection

Because of World Cup 2010, Dirk Bikkembergs has moved the runway show to Cape Town and for the first time, the show is shown on screen at Piazza Duomo in Milan!

As many of you may know, Dirk Bikkembergs Sport Couture is all about blending Football in Fashion and this collection is inspired by the vibrant diversity and progressive creativity of South Africa. There are few features in this collection that attract me. First I see a few pieces with fringe on the side, and this applied to both shirts, jackets and pants. Then there is this block pattern on some of the tops and even jeans and I am loving it. I can see myself wearing these few pieces on the street.

I am also loving the mustard yellow numbers. To me, they are fantastic! I can totally feel the summer spirit from those pieces. Last but not least, the metallic color blazers have totally caught my eyes. They may not be easy to wear, but I can imagine you will get a lot of attention if you put one of them on. Overall, the fitting of  this collection is very relaxing (especially the pants!!), slim and it also shows the edginess of a Bikembergs' man. I will definitely love to try on some of the pieces in the future.

Below are some photos of the show and you can check out the runway video at the bottom of this entry. Thanks to the press team from Dirk Bikkembergs for providing some information to me.
