Last week, I received a surprised email from Eero Hintsanen (the co-founder of Chao and Eero) and I just have to show this new collection with you today!
For this season, Eero has collaborated with US designer Hogan McLaughlin on a capsule collection. The accessories are simply stunning and all of them have a strong couture vibe. Here is what Eero has to say about the collection:
"Our aesthetics with Hogan matched extremely well, and we worked independently sharing ideas and sketches online besides meeting once in Oslo. Idea was to make something with a “couture touch”, especially when 3D designs are overwhelming the traditional techniques in such a fast pace.
So I try to keep the traditional craft alive by using it into nice projects like this, projects with a very different approach when you look what other Master Goldsmiths do with their skills. Just like many previous big sculpture like objects I have done before, they combine the primal Finnish feeling and forms to a contemporary fashion."
To make this campaign look special, the designers have commissioned Matt Lambert to do a shoot at an abandoned military base/school in Berlin. In my opinion, the vibe of the location suits the collection a lot.
If you are interested in purchasing a piece from this collection, please feel free to contact Eero on Facebook!
