Trendology: Amuro Namie for ViVi January 2010

Hi, all!
This is my first entry ever on this lovely blog, so my job is to fill you all in on street fashion.
To be honest, Japanese street wear is what influenced me to study more on fashion in general since three years ago.
Yes, in so little time I managed to learn so many things in terms of style and what not, which, by the way, inspired me to become a stylist.

My post of the day stars Amuro Namie, the Japanese R&B and hip hop artist, who modeled for the January issue of ViVi magazine for 2010.

Her outfit in the shoot is very much like a rich mature little girl Alice type character, hence the teacup and the trump suites designs in the photo above.
Out of the entire outfit I find that stands out the most is the gold on her headpiece and the thick belt, which accents very nicely with the pink and the black.
The accessories alone defines her as a little wealthy girl, yet the short skirt and the knee-high leather heeled boots adds a bit of maturity to her character.
Surprisingly, Amuro Namie can pull of this young look being that she's in her thirties!
Amazing, isn't it?
Also speaking as a visual merchandiser in training, the over sized teacup is a tremendous idea as a prop to capture the "Alice in Wonderland" vision.

By the way, it seems like the fairy tale is all the rage these days.
Hhhmmm, I wonder if it has to do with the upcoming Alice movie.

Anyway, that photo above I found was taken from the following Amuro Namie information blog: Namie News Network.
Make sure to check out the rest of the incredible photos in the same shoot.
I must say that the stylist of this shoot, Noriko Goto, did an incredible job to achieve the look!
