Picture Perfect: Dior Secret Garden III

Since 2012, the house of Dior has been commissioning Inez and Vinoodh to produce a series called the Dior Secret Garden. Today, it's time to unveil the 3rd chapter of this series.

Top models Daria Strokous, Fei Fei Sun, and Katlin Aas are featured in this short film. Just like the previous chapters, the models are running around inside Château de Versailles aimlessly and the setting continues to be very surreal and elegant.

Now we will have to wait for 1 year before the release of chapter 4.

Wave of Inspirology: Jeanne's love: the history of the Lanvin logo

A lot of you must be familiar with Lanvin, but how many of you actually know the meaning of this brand's logo? Today, I have the answer for you.

To celebrate the 125th anniversary of the brand, a new animation has been released on the web to show Jeanne Lanvin and Marguerite Marie Blanch are happily dancing in front of a pile of sketches and photos. Their outfits in the logo are actually very iconic as these were the clothes the mother and daughter wore to a costume ball in 1907. I love the animation a lot, as it shows the unconditional love between Jeanne and Marguerite.

If you want to learn more about the history of this iconic logo, please visit this site.

Wave of Inspirology: Prada 2014 Accessories Video Campaign

It's rare to see Prada creates a video campaign mainly focusing on its accessories, and this one is elegant and classy.

Shot by Steven Meisel, this campaign features the beautiful Lexi Boling. The setting is very simple, yet it reflects the aesthetic of the brand very well (simple and elegant). Meisel has done a wonderful job by showing how delicate the handbags are within 41 seconds.

Seriously, Prada can do no wrong.

Wave of Inspirology: Louis Vuitton - Emprise

Louis Vuitton has just released a new collection of watches and jewellery, and in order to promote it, the brand has commissioned Surface to Air Studio to create this stunning video campaign.

The short film is very surreal, as if there is no ending to it. The jewellery pieces in this video are stunning, especially the necklaces. To be very honest, I feel a little bit dizzy after watching it.

What do you think?

Wave of Inspirology: Hermès S/S 2014 Campaign - Metamorphosis

Whenever I look at Hermès' website, a smiley face will always be put on my face because of the whimsical illustrations. Few days ago, the brand released its S/S 2014 campaign video and it is equally artistic and entertaining.

Canadian graphic designer/ director Julien Vallée directed this jungle theme short video for the brand. In here, different products from this season take on different roles such as rings as tangerines, wallet as a leaf. The video is whimsical, and reflects the playful aesthetic of the brand.

Wave of Inspirology: Gucci S/S 2014 Video Campaign

Expect the unexpected.

Shot by Mert & Marcus. Gucci has just released the video campaign for the S/S 2014 collection starring Amanda Wellsh, Elisabeth Erm, Tommaso De Benedictis and Luca Till Stascheit. To me, this brand is all about luxury so seeing these models showing different martial arts moves is quite a pleasant surprise. Of course, how can you not love the clothes in this season's collections?

Wave of Inspirology: Hermès The Orange Box Ballet

Christmas is only 2 days away and today, I want to show you this festive video by Hermès!

This year, the brand has transformed its famous orange boxes into an army of ice skaters. In this video, you have the chance to see their wonderful performance on ice and this is actually a promotion for the site's Christmas countdown page.

After watching this video, I just want Christmas to be here right now! What do you think?

Wave of Inspirology: Back to the Future

I always find it interesting that there is actually a strange connection between video games and fashion (Remember the collaboration between Prada and Final Fantasy?). The video below is just another good example to prove my point.

To promote the latest iPhone, iPad and iPad mini cases, Louis Vuitton has produced a fun video featuring some of the iconic arcade games. I like how the cases are transformed into the titles of Tetris, the monsters in Space Invaders, and the bricks in Breakout.

As a gaming fan, I just can't help but to watch this video over and over again.

Wave of Inspirology: Festive 2013 - Burberry With Love

The gifting season is finally here and a lot of brands have created special campaigns to promote their seasonal products. Out of all the campaigns I have seen so far, Burberry is probably most memorable one to date.

The campaign is extremely festive and I enjoy the London graphic scene a lot. The video gives off a very warm vibe, and if you look closely, some of the snow flakes are actually in heart shapes. Because of this campaign, I have actually visited the website and even though I don't have an iPad mini, my eyes are set on this lovely case right now!

Have you started your holiday shopping yet?

Wave of Inspirology: Louis Vuitton - The Art of Travel- 2.0

Last year, Louis Vuitton debuted the Art of Travel series and after one year, the 2nd episode is finally released to the world.

Do you remember Arizona Muse was riding the hot air balloon at the end of the 1st episode? Now we know that she is actually taking that ride to attend a grand party hosted by David Bowie. The video is directed by Romain Gavras and I just love the dreamy vibe of the entire story.

At the end of this episode, we know that Arizona is now on a boat, I wonder where will be her next destination (and possibly who is the next big celebrity she is going to meet)?

Wave of Inspirology: Dolce & Gabbana The One

As many of you know Scarlett Johansson and Matthew McConaughey have been the spokesperson of many Dolce & Gabbana products for years now, but they never crossed paths to make a commercial together, until now.

To promote the Dolce & Gabbana The One fragrance, these two celebrities are starred in a black and white short film directed by Martin Scorsese. I like the imagery of the video a lot and the commercial is true to Scorsese's style.

As for the print ads, the fashion house has invited Peter Lindberg to capture the chemistry between Scarlett and Matthew. The above image is definitely one of my favourite images of this year.

What do you think? Are you excited to try this fragrance now?

Wave of Inspirology: The Future of Flesh

Recently, I have come across this very interesting short film by Luke Gilford. Jane Fonda is the narrator here and all the models are in Prada F/W 2013 collection with latex suits underneath. The film itself is very futuristic and surreal, with a hint of horror as well. If you are a fan of Scissor Sisters, you are going to love this soundtrack because it is produced by Jake Shears.

Give yourself a minute to watch this short film and let me know what you think.

Wave of Inspirology: Gucci Made To Measure Campaign

The campaign of Gucci's Made to Measure fragrance is finally here and James Franco has once again become the spokesperson for the brand's product.

The photo and video are shot by Mert & Marcus and I like the campaign a lot. The metropolitan setting is interesting and the video reflects a classy, sexy and masculine vibe of the product. Based on this imagery, I am sure girls will want to get a bottle for their boyfriends or husbands.

What do you think?

Wave of Inspirology: This Must Be The Only Fantasy

Video game always has a special place in my heart so when I first saw Rodarte S/S 2013 collection, I was instantly attracted to it because the inspirations was from the video game characters. Recently, the brand has released a short film and it is a very interesting one.

This film stars Sidney Williams, Guinevere Van Seenus and Elijah Wood, and it is directed by Todd Cole. In here, Sidney's life is transformed into a video game world and most of her fashion garments are from the S/S 2013 collection. The idea is refreshing and I think if any illustrator is willing to take a challenge and turn this story into an illustration series, the result should be very interesting.

If you are a RPG gamer, then this video will fore sure capture your heart!

Wave of Inspirology: Miu Miu F/W 2013 Video Campaign

I am a huge fan of the F/W 2013 Miu Miu collection and in July, the brand has released the latest campaign. Below is the video campaign of the collection.

The video is directed by Inez & Vinoodh and it features Adriana Lima, Anne Verhallen, Daphne Groeneveld, Emily DiDonato, Georgia May Jagger, Hind Sahli, Katlin Aas, Lindsey Wixson,  and Marina Nery. In here, you see the girls are having so much fun dancing with one another and the song ("Hand Clapping Song", performed by The Meters) really helps to get us into the mood.

With great models and great outfits, I don't think you can take your eyes off this video easily, as I have clicked the replay button many times already!

Wave of Inspirology: Prada Real Fantasies F/W 2013

The new Prada Real Fantasies video has arrived and once again I am amazed by AMO's storytelling technique!

I find this video to have a strong urban vibe, which fits the aesthetic of both collections' perfectly. As always, AMO uses the collage style to tell the story and in this video, you are able to see some of the iconic pieces from this season. Overall, I enjoy this video a lot and I hope this side project can continue to live on for another 8-10 seasons.

Wave of Inspirology: Prada F/W 2013 Video Campaign

Prada has just released the new F/W 2013 video campaign and it is a very interesting short film.

This video is shot by Steven Meisel with the art direction of DJA. Here, the Prada girls are in a casting room and each of them has to use her acting skills to win the director's/audience's heart. The video in generally is very dramatic and the models (Sophia Ahrens, Freja Beha, Caroline De Maigret, Malaika Firth, Kristine Froseth, Catherine McNeil, Amanda Murphy, Cameron Russell, Fei Fei Sun) actually have amazing acting skills!

Who do you like the most?

P.S oil slick hair is back.

Wave of Inspirology: Woman of Steel

One of the most anticipated movies, Man of Steel is opening today and it seems like the superhero trend has hit the fashion world as well.

Recently, Joan Smalls has teamed up with Barnaby Roper to produce a short fashion film called Woman of Steel. In it, Joan is spinning continuously in the video and she is dressed in Balmain, Rodarte and Altuzara. The video is very artistic and it contains a strong masculine vibe because of the Balmain piece.

I enjoy watching this video but my biggest concern is: Did Joan feel dizzy at all while filming?

Wave of Inspirology: Lanvin Homme Classic Sneakers - The Video

One of the things I want to own in my wardrobe is a pair of Lanvin sneakers. I consider that is a stable piece because its simple design works very well with many of your outfits.

Today, Lanvin has released a short creative video based on this product and this reminds me why I want the purple suede version so badly.

Which pair do you want to own the most?

Wave of Inspirology: The Art of Packing 2 by Louis Vuitton

Last year, Louis Vuitton made a short animation about the Art of Packing and it was probably one of the best short videos I have seen last year. Recently, the brand has decided to make a part 2 of this series and after watching it, I feel like I need a Louis Vuitton suitcase and use it to travel around the world.

I wonder if there will be a part 3 of this.
