Artist E.V. Day had designed a very unique installation for the New York City Opera as the company returned to the David H. Koch Theather at Lincoln Centre after renovation. The artist chose 13 pieces of retired costumes fromo the City Opera's archive, and transformed the vintage pieces into 13 dramatic suspending sculptures 10-foot above the promenade. Each sculpture is in a dramatic stop-motion and explosive energy, all leading from the fishing tackle and a pair of horizontal steel rings. In order to make all sculptures visible from all tiers, they are hung like stars at three different heights.
