Okay, lets go back in time to the 90s. This is a time when burger king's mascott was Vid kid, and cartoons on saturday morning was worth getting up early for. You feeling nostalgia yet? Awesome, do you remeber action movies from that time? We had some classics like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Indiana Jones, Terminator, Rambo, Judge Dredd, Fifth element, Die hard, Commando, Univerisal solider, Robocop, Batman, Desperado and Marked for death to name a very few.
Imagination behind some of those films wese just awe inspiring. CG (Computer Generated) was not quite ready yet for film, so the action sequences were quite death defying. Now maybe I am the only one that thinks this but I will throw it out there anyway. I find the action movies in todays film are quite clean cut. If you take the old Batman with Micheal Keaton and Jack Nicholson, and compare it to Batman begins with Christian Bale and Liam Neeson. Notice how the first Batman has more of a dark atmosphere that I would like to call gritty style. Whatever happend to that? Now don't get me wrong. The new action movies out there have definatly improved the fights in movies. However, it seems that instead of buliding creative sets they just CG it.
Anyway I could rant further but what I want to talk about is what Sylvester "Sly" Stallone is doing these days. For those of you that miss the action movies I have been talking about. Check this out!
THE EXPENDABLES. This movie is stallone's tribute to old school action movies, for this film stallone has casted great action stars such as Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, and Jason Stateham. Also there is comfrimed rumors that Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger will make appearences in the film. In my opinion, this will be a historic event thats worth checking out in the theatres.
