Trendology: Pierre Garroudi

Recently we have a chance to get in contact with the people from one of the great fashion designers in the world and his name is Pierre Garroudi. We have seen his collection and we think the clothes are refreshing and trendy. In order for you to know Pierre more, Coco, his PR has provided some information for us.

Pierre Garroudi was born in Teheran, Iran. He studied in Paris and working as a hairdresser in his spare time. He moved to New York in 1986 and he joined the Fashion Institute of Technology. After working at various retail and design houses, Garroudi started his own label in 1993. His designs have turned out to be witty and provocative, and very creative.

Pierre likes to push the boundaries in fashion and he likes to manipulate all sorts of fabrics to make sure they fit into his latest collection. If you live in London, you are in luck because he has an open gallery/studio where you can see him hard at work all the time.

5 years ago, he has changed his design direction by creating part of the collection with just one single color (from head to toe). We have seen the results from this new design direction and we have to admit we love them a lot. If you don't believe us, you should check the photos below, they are from the S/S collection. For this F/W 2010 collection, you will see red as the color of the season and the catwalk show will be in February during the London fashion week.

We have to agree his collection is very provocative and creative. The clothes that are made by Pierre are full of attitude (especially the single color collection, they are one of a kind) and you will not see these kind of designs on the street a lot. We are sure if you wear them on the street, people will start to ask you questions and they will want to own a piece from his collections. We are looking forward to see the latest collection from Pierre and also how he can manipulate red for this coming season.
