Trenodology: Balenciaga RTW Fall 2010

I would say all the elements here in this Balenciaga collection are odd.  Odd inspiration and colour palette, yet it turned out rather interesting when they all joined.  Looking like packaging and food boxes, syntheic foam and plywood, pattern originated from bubble wrap, laced dresses that Nicolas Ghesquiere himself refers to French biscuits.  One would not dare to put all these together if they do not have the creative mind.  To kick the oddness even further, colour palette included pale blue, tangerine, brown and aqua are used. Again, putting these colours together nicely are not easy, but Ghesquiere managed to work them out nicely.    I cannot afford not to mention the shoes.  High-heel blocked loafers with sole cased in a plastic add-on.  Surely it would not be easy to walk in them, but they do remind us of lego from our childhood.  One thing yet to mention, we're seeing this unfamiliar silhouette - wings at the back of the dresses.  Aren't these wings fun to look at?
