Trendology: Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture Fall 2010

As a fan of Jean Paul Gaultier, there is no way I will not talk about this Haute Couture collection!

In this collection, Gaultier has transformed his models into glamorous Parisian ladies in the 50s. As usual, the designer loves to use a lot of leather throughout the show to set apart from others' Haute Couture collections. One of the big elements in this show is the sharp and big shoulder design and I think this element alone gives the ladies a more edgy and masculine look. Also interesting to note that fluffy gowns are not presented here but instead, mini skirts, long dresses and trench coats are what you will see in this show. Of course, how can you ignore the amazing skeleton corsets JPG created for Dita Von Teese at the end of the show?

P.S. I love the head piece on the models! I think they should really bring this trend back to fashion!
