Trendology: John Galliano Menswear S/S Collection 2011

Charlie Chaplin + John Galliano S/S 2011 = One hell of a show!

I always think Charlie Chaplin will be a good inspiration for fashion but I am surprised to see the designer whom turns this into reality is none other than John Galliano. To me, Galliano's menswear is always very dark and edgy. On the other hand, Charlie is a very bright and funny comedian and combing these two genius together, the result is a fun, edgy and dark collection.

This collection is more about the suits and to make them look different, thin belts are used to wrap on top of the blazers. The length of the jackets is slightly longer than the normals and this creates the unique image of Galliano's men. Almost at the end of the show, a number of black pieces are introduced to the stage. The jackets here are sharp cut and the pants are baggier than the ones in the first half of the show. I may not be able to pull off those black numbers but I do have a feeling that those suits will fit me well.

Here are some of my favorites and you can click here to see the complete collection.
