[Un]Discovers: blindSALIDA

If you have read the blog recently, you must have seen the post about a B/S project by a talented illustrator named blindSALIDA. Since I love this illustrator's works a lot, I have approached the artist through email and now, I present you this edition of [Un]Discovers featuring blindSALIDA.

Hi blindSALIDA, I have to say I can't get enough of your illustration works. So, how did you become an illustrator?
By accident ! At first, I had dreams of becoming a musician but I was not really talented. In my first job, I worked on flash animation projects. After that, i had "drift" to artistic direction and somehow I have started to do illustrations. This is like my dream, it's a creative job :)

I once thought I would be a musician too but I failed and now I am a photographer and graphic designer. Well, how will you describe your style? Who are your inspirations?
Explosive ! With lines, movements and colorful !My favorite styles is surrealism and psychedelism.
Now i like a lot of illustrators, including Sanghon Kim or Kam tang.

I can totally associate the word explosive with your works! I know a lot of artists do that, but do you like to listen to music when you work? If so, what kind of music do you like? Do you think songs inspire you to have more ideas when working on projects?
Of course. I listen to music all the time. I like a lot of styles and some of my favorites albums are "The black saint and the sinner lady" (charles mingus), "YS" (Joanna Newsom) and "Rock bottom" (robert wyatt). I love the idea that songs inspire my works work; however, I am not feeling it all the time.

That's interesting because whenever I listen to music, my ideas will start to flow. I believe everyone just has a different work style. Out of all the projects you have done so far, which one can best represent you? Why?
Recently, i had create the spring campaign for Orange in France. They use my "thread" style and it's always exciting to see a precise part of your work on the streets.

Yep, I can totally understand your excitement! I would be jumping up and down if my works are seen by people on the street too. What are you currently working on right now? Can you give us some details on the next project?
In the next months, I will create a parralel project. It will be psychedelic and explosive but in a different way : simpler but stronger and more childish !

I am so looking forward to see that! Please keep me posted! Last but not least, if you could collaborate a project with another illustrator in the future, who would you choose and what kind of project would you want to work with him/her?
I can't answer this question, mostly because I take opportunities, i do not like to plan :)
