[Un]Discovers: Shoe The Bear

Few weeks ago, I have come across the Shoe The Bear brand and made a post about the S/S 2011 collection. After that, I am so curious about this brand so I have sent the company requesting for a Q&A session with them. To my surprise, the individual who replies me is actually the Bear himself. Today marks the first interview I have with a talk animal.

Hey Shoe The Bear, I am so glad I can interview you on this blog. I am curious, how did Thomas and Jakob start this brand?
Let me just make one thing perfectly clear for you and your readers: Those guys, Thomas and Jakob, are taking credit for my good taste and for starting my brand.
The brand has lived as long as me, and it IS ME. But ever since 2007 I have been followed by these two neurotic Danish dudes who claims to be "successful shoe and sneaker designers". Bah! I've seen some of their work and I'm not impressed. Mainly because they don't make shoes that fit my hairy big paws.

Wow, I never know they are taking all the credits but not you. Well since you are the brain behind this brand, let me ask you this: what's the philosophy behind this brand? What adjective words will best describe your brand?
I just want to show the world that bears are so much more than just bears. We also have feelings and like to dress up and be cool with the cool crowd. Luckily I'm very like-able and good looking so I hang out with a lot of famous and influential people. I'm famous and I want the attention. The two Scandinavians are trying to have my sun shine upon them, but I say no no no. So the philosophy is to make me more famous.

Trust me, you are getting world famous now since I can discover your brand even thought I live in Toronto. Anyway, this question has been in my mind ever since I see your brand, will we eventually see the you in the logo or somewhere in the future?
You're looking at it right now. Notice the big white hair on my body, big paws and sharp teeth. That ought to give me away.

Okay, but I still don't see you appear in the shoe logo yet. I hope I will see you there sometime soon. I know that the brand has done a lot of collaborations with other artists and these projects have become very successful. Do you have any artist in mind that you really want to collaborate but does not have the chance to do it yet?
Terry Richardson. Because he hangs around even more famous people as me. And most of them are naked.

Right, I think you two will do a wonderful collaboration project! Well, currently the brand is sold mainly in Europe and Japan, are you planning to expand the market to North America in the future? People like me are desperate to try on a pair of your shoes!
Well well well my Michelle. Since I originally from North America, it would be natural to go back sometime. But I haven't found the right partners to go back home yet, and I'm very patient. When the right dudes/dudettes comes along, I might return to my roots. In the meantime I'll enjoy myself with the beautiful blondes of Scandinavia. But you can always follow me here.

I really hope you will arrive here soon because I can't wait to meet you! Last but not least, can you tell our readers about your S/S 2011 collection? What is the experience like to be able to collaborate with Bibi GHOST ?
Well first of all she's really hot. That was the main reason why I wanted to work with her. I like hot girls. And then I really wanted to find out what was up with the ghost. I have a lot of weird friends and hang arounds, but it would be so cool to make out with a ghost.

I am looking forward to see which country the brand will invade in the future. On a side note, I feel bad for Thomas and Jakob since I never get a chance to talk to them and I hope they are not tortured by the Bear. Good luck to the Bear, Thomas and Jakob and I hope to see your new line of collection in real life soon! All pictures are courtesy of Shoe The Bear.
