I will be constantly checking the response and if I see any interesting ones, I will post them right here (which means this entry will be in a constant update mode). Without further ado, here is our first debate subject: Artistic vs Commercial Collection.
Synopsis:
Ever since I know the brand Viktor & Rolf, its runway shows have been given me a lot of "wow" moments. The pieces are artistic and appear in a lot of great editorial but at the same time, you can hardly see celebrities wearing them on different events. On the other hand, Marc Jacobs' collections are way more wearable and you will see celebrities wearing them on events, or treat them as everyday wear.

Question:
Should fashion houses continue to produce pure artistic garments that are only good for editorials shoots? If not, what percentage should the designer houses divide the collection between artist and commercial?

My 2 Cents:
As a photographer, I am always so eager to see as many outrageous but glamours pieces as much as possible because these clothes will make the editorial shine; however, when it comes to consumer points of view, the tag "user friendly" does not apply on these clothes at all. The clothes are expensive and as a normal person, there is no event you will want to dress like that. To me, if a collection can have 30% artistic pieces and the rest to be commercial pieces, then that will create a great balance for the fashion brand.

Take note of this entry
@MissSLY (sad but true)

@Turnstylin (yes, we do need to find a way to let the public recognize them)
@michaeleardley (true and valid, but I believe they should have the income base first)

@OliuMillinery (These are my favorites tweets. Designers, take note)
