Fashion [Re}wind: Fcuk Fashion

A turn of the century controversial ad campaign made for your favourite t-shirt just 10 years ago, this pop-up post is dedicated to the short-lived and long-loved FCUK trend.(à: So I have done some research and finally I know where did this fcuk trend come from. According to wikipedia: "Apparently they first discovered the acronym when a fax was sent from their Hong Kong store, entitled 'FCHK to FCUK'." I think I need to give props to the person who wrote this in Hong Kong. You are amazing! )

Interestingly enough, it is nearly impossible to find images of these shirts on the net nowadays. This may have something to do with the court rulings that basically shutdown the entire fcuking line a few years ago deeming the ad campaign tasteless and obnoxious. The brand is still alive and kicking today, however, I can't say I know anyone who actually shops at French Connection. (à: Well, I do shop there sometimes.)

Let's take a trip down memory lane though and remember some of the clever fcuks we used proudly wear across our chests.

I'll be the first to share the two t-shirts I had: MOODY FCUK and "If you love someone, let them go; if they don't come back, who gives a fcuk". Brilliant. (à: For me, I only remember these few phrase: Cool as fcuk, too busy to fcuk and of course, hot as fcuk. I still find this gimmick to be brilliant but sadly the brand did not try to expand this cool as fcuk line.)

Which ones did you have?

  1. I didn't own any of them (sadly I was too broke to afford any) but I enviously admired a friends T-shirt that simply read, "FCUK" in large print.
