[Un]Discovers: Joshua Bullen

It's time to introduce another amazing emerging designer who has recently graduated from Central Saint Martins!

Joshua Bullen is the [Un]Discovers feature for this week and his graduate menswear collection is very sporty and sleek. Today, it is my honor to interview him and let you know more about Joshua as the emerging force in the fashion industry!

Hi Josh, thanks for letting me to feature you on the site this week. First off, will you be able to give a brief description of yourself?
Short hair, tattooed, spoiled stomach, stubble, once refered to as a good Rod Stuart look-a-like. But i really hope not...

I don't think you look like Rod Stuart at all so I have no idea how that person could have that thought. So, what was the main reason why you wanted to study fashion design?
I didnt want to, it just happened. I studied fashion print at foundation because it was fun. Also lots of pretty girls study fashion.

This sounds like one of the fashion designers I have featured before and his name is Edward Finney. He graduated from Central Saint Martins too, maybe you two should meet one day. Now I am curious, which fashion designers do you look up to? What have you learnt from them?
Kim Jones, styling. Massimo Osti, innovation. Yang Li, Ambition.

Those are some cool designers to look up to. For the people who are not familiar with your graudate collection, would you mind to tell us a bit more about it? Will we be able to purchase your collection anytime soon?
The collection is about all aspects of football, from the cuts and fabrics of football shirts to the personality of David Beckham. My collection has pieces from the training ground, the locker room and the pitch. You can purchase the collection by contacting me josh@joshuabullen.com.

Ah football! No wonder there is a very strong sporty vibe in your collection! In your opinion, what is the main difference between Italian and British men's fashion?
Tight jeans is what comes to mind when it comes to Italian fashion!

Tight jeans, that just reminds me of the Hedi Slimane's Dior Homme period. Last but not least,  what is your future plan?
I have just moved to Italy to work for Stone Island. A company that i am very passionate about.
