Walk the Walk: Marc Jacobs S/S 2012 Collection

What a great way to finish off New York Fashion Week!

Marc Jacobs presented a stunning show on Thursday evening and the show opening was like a cabaret show. 1920s and 30s era (dance hall if you want to be precise) was the inspiration for this collection and Mr Jacobs had used plastic to give a modern twist to the pieces. The layer dress was one of the eye popping pieces, so was the transparent silver boots.

After seeing this collection, I think it will be interesting to see some of the pieces show up in the up coming editorials. I still remember Jacobs once said his collection is about "selling cheap stuff for an expensive price" and I have to agree with that as he has turned the cheap plastic materials into

Pros:
- Love the plastic fabric
- Love the 20/30s theme of this collection.
- The silver heels and the transparent/silver boots will be a hit for next season.
- I like the art deco checks a lot!
- The lemon yellow is very popping here!

Cons:
- Some pieces remind me of Prada F/W 2011 collection. I think is the fringe element.
- Not a fan of a particular clear plastic dress.

Eye Candies:
- The plastic layer dress
- The silver heels and the transparent silver boots
- The green techno-gingham plastic dress
