Valentino kicks off the Milan menswear fashion week with a very sleek and classy collection. To me, Valentino is not a trendsetting brand, but rather, a brand that helps you to build your essential collection with high quality pieces. There is nothing too fancy in this collection but you have to look how well fitted those pieces are. Every piece is in its right proportion and the men are looking very sleek. Out of all the pieces, my eyes are fixed on the Emerald green/black two tone blazer and if Chiuri and Piccioli could produce more pieces with the jewel colour tone, that would probably bring the collection to the next level. Overall, I think it is a very sustainable and well made collection.
Pros:
- The collection is very well tailored, every model looks very sleek.
- I am not usually a fan of green but it works very well here.
- This collection is not about setting the trend, but rather, helping you to build up your essential pieces with a little edge.
- I always have a problem to find the perfect white shirt but Chiuri and Piccioli are emphasizing the brand's white shirts are great in this show.
Cons:
- Would love to see more jewel tone pieces
Eye Candies:
- Emerald green/ black two tone blazer
- Green leather blazer
- Black/grey military inspired jacket
