Walk the Walk: Givenchy S/S 2013 Menswear Collection

From childhood war craft print to Virgin Mary print, Riccardo has turned a 180 degree from resort to spring & summer collection.

This season, Riccardo has gone back to what he is known best: the theme of religion. He has modified the look how a priest should look like by giving him bomber jacket and printed pieces to wear. Speaking of prints, I am very impressed with the Virgin Mary prints and with the help of layering, this collection has achieved something other brands have not done - the illusion of arts. Overall, I think this collection is actually slightly softer than the previous collection (mainly because of the sheer material and the colour palette), but the mysterious vibe remains.

I can guarantee you I will be looking out for the Virgin Mary tie, that is probably one of the pieces I absolutely want so far in this coming S/S 2013 season (and the metallic iPad case from Burberry).

Pros:
- It's back to religion and Riccardo has a pretty good vision of how a modern priest should look like.
- I like the Virgin Mary prints, especially one with the eyes blocked out. I think Riccardo is brining the arts into fashion and I absolutely love that!
- I love layering idea and this gives a very nice illusion effect.
- Even though I am not a sandal person, I can see the sandals and the nose pads to be huge next season. Get ready to see them in editorials!

Cons:
- Some of the pieces are slightly redundant (maybe the entire collection can cut from 65 looks to 55)

Eye Candies:
- The icy pink suit
- The Virgin Mary bomber jacket (white and black versions)
- The Virgin Mary print long coat
- The tie
- The nose pads
