Tendology: Paragon by Woudenberg

Emily Woudenberg (Woudenberg) is one of the raising jewellery designers in the Toronto fashion industry. Few days ago, I was invited to see her Paragon S/S 2013 accessories collection and I was amazed by the pieces.

The collection is inspired by the luxurious qualities of the Art Deco movement. If you know me, you should know Art Deco is one of my favourite periods of all time. The collection consists of 12 pieces and the materials include rose gold, opalite, copper industrial materials, rope and hand-sculpted pendants.

In my opinion, I think the collection is very solid. Even though not all pieces are symmetrical, I find that Emily has successfully captured the essence of that particular period by using skull, squares and opalite pendulum & beads to create the collection (Symmetrical design is popular during that period). Some of my favourites include the Vertex Ring (skull ring), the Chrysler Choker (based on the Chrysler Building in the States) and Scarab Necklace with the hand sculpted beetle (it can be detached).

This collection will be available at Homegrown boutique and Woudenberg online shop early next year.
