Trendology: Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2013 Collection

Unlike the bright S/S collection, Louis Vuitton has changed the tone and become very dark with its pre-fall season.

This collection is inspired by the movie "The Bride Wore Black". Lace is the main theme of this season and Julie de Libran tries to push the envelope by using lace print and lace jacquards techniques on silk twill. Some of the pieces have a bigger silhouette to make the girls look more masculine. I also really like the red monogram on the bags as this fits the collection nicely.

If this is the preview of the main F/W collection showing later in Paris Fashion Week, then I am exciting to see what kind of setting Marc Jacobs and the Louis Vuitton team will create for the runway presentation. A bat cave perhaps?
