Alber Elbaz continues to create his new Lanvin girl this season and it continues to be dark. The girls are still glamourous, but they also come with a very edgy attitude, which reminds me of Lisbeth Salander from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
There are 4 elements that have really stood out from this collection. First, I love the word accessories. I feel like these are the words (even HELP) a Lanvin girl will like to scream out in her world. I also like the butterfly pattern on some of the dresses as they add an elegant vibe to the collection. Next, I am in love with those illusion dresses. Some of the dresses may look like they are strapless, but they are actually created with a nude colour layer. I really like the effect and I am sure girls with similar skin tone will look very nice in them. Finally, the Lanvin girls are wearing some pretty oxfords and this is probably the main reason why I think the girls are having this edgy attitude.
I am completely in love with the new Lanvin girl transformation and I cannot wait to see what Alber Elbaz will explore with these girls next. More happiness perhaps?
Pros:
- I love the word accessories. They are so brilliant and fun to wear!
- The illusion pieces are nice and I think they will look very good on red carpets.
- I like the butterfly print, this adds an elegant vibe to the collection.
- Some of the insect embellishments are nice.
- The oxfords are pretty, even the men want them.
- This only applies to the show, but I love the fact that each model has a specific makeup to bring out her character.
Cons:
- The beetle pront jump suit is really not my cup of tea, it slightly creeps me out.
Eye Candies:
- The illusion dress
- The word accessories
- Oxfords
- Butterfly dress
- The sweat shirt with insects embellishments
