Walk the Walk: Louis Vuitton F/W 2013 Collection

Marc Jacobs presented the Louis Vuitton F/W 2013 in Paris today and it was a very interesting collection. The designer pushed the fashion envelope by creating looks that were inspired by sleepwear. There were some great lingerie inspired dresses and all the ombre pieces reminded me of beautiful wallpapers. The silhouettes tended coming from the menswear and but Marc Jacobs made them more feminine.

This time around, the Pochette Accessoire, the Lockit and the Speedy were redesigned with textures such as marabou, curled goose feather and crocodile. The mink Speedy was one of highlights of the show because the handles were carved in exotic, aromatic woods and they looked very colourful.

Overall, this was a very solid collection and if Marc Jacobs can push this envelope successfully, I have a very good feeling we are going to see a lot of PJ inspired pieces in the up coming seasons by different brands. Do you think this will be a new trend?

Pros:
- This collection is unique, as part of it is inspired by lingerie and sleepwear. Surprisingly, the clothes are very wearable and I believe Marc is starting a new trend in the fashion world.
- The new speedy bags with the fur treatment are great!
- I really like the omber treatment on many of the coats, they somehow remind me of wallpapers, but in a very beautiful way.
- The glitters and the ostrich feathers details add a special vibe to the clothes.

Cons:
- The shoes are not as crazy as the previous seasons.

Eye Candies:
- Ombre long coats
- The speedy bags
- Silver floral print long coat
- Lingerie inspired dresses
