Walk the Walk: Valentino F/W 2016 Haute Couture Collection

All eyes were on Valentino F/W 2016 Haute Couture runway show today because of the rumor circulating around that Maria Grazia Chiuri will be going to Dior after this presentation. Whether this rumor is true or not, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli did present one of the best collections in this Haute Couture season.

The inspiration for this collection is from the Sharpsphere and theatre world so there are a lot of Elizabeth era inspired pieces (elements such as the collar and shoulder). As for the colour palette, the collection is mostly in black and white with the addition of the signature Valentino red and hand painted graphics. The fashion house is known for great craftsmanship and every piece in here has specific great details (such as feathers, gold leather pieces etc). One of the eye catchy ensembles is definitely the final look. It makes me think the model is the Valentino Queen.

As I mentioned before, this could possibly be the last Valentino collection for Maria Grazia Chiuri. If this is the case, then I personally think she ended this chapter on a very high note!
