Trendology: Patrick Stephan S/S 2011 Collection

Patrick Stephan, a good friend of this blog has recently sent me the look book for his S/S 2011 collection and once again, I am liking it a lot! Minimalism is still the main element in this collection and the color tone is still leaning toward a darker tone to create the edge factor. The cardigan and the trench coat are definitely on my wish list and I am also loving the big pocket pants. Now I wish I could buy this collection in Toronto....

Trendology: Patrick Stephan F/W 2010 Menswear LookBook

I have just received the lookbook images from Patrick Stephan for his F/W collection and I am so excited to share them with you right now!

This collection is going back to his black and white color choice. The designs are simple and with the silhouette tends to be slim, the whole collection becomes very sleek. Out of the whole collection, there are 2 pieces that have totally caught my eyes. As you know I am a fan of blazers so that black blazer is for sure on my wish list. The other one is the leather jacket. I can tell you that leather jackets does not always work for me but this one is definitely my cup of tea.

Now I wish they will ship this clothes to Toronto!

[Un]Discovers: Patrick Stephan

Patrick Stephan, who has once worked for John Galliano, Thierry Mugler and Dior Couture, is one of the famous fashion designers in Japan with his own Patrick Stephan brand. When I see his S/S 2010 collection, I know that this collection is my cup of tea and I am very excited to get a chance to know him more. Now, I am very honored to say Patrick has become this blog's first fashion designer in the [Un]Discovers section.

So Stephan, how did you get into this fashion industry? Was fashion designer your dream job when you were small?
It wasn't really until the age of 14 that I became interested in fashion. I was born on a small island in the north of France called Ouessant -- I guess it wasn' t the most inspiring place for a career in fashion and most of the men in my family worked in the French Army. It's funny now to imagine the surprise of my family seeing me play with stolen 'borrowed' dolls from my girl friends. I remember like it was yesterday cutting pieces of fabric from the curtains in my sisters room to make a wedding dress and playing with Grandmothers black silk scarves.. wrapping the scarves around plastic bottles -- certainly was a world far from fashion and design.
