Trendology: Viktor & Rolf Women RTW Fall 2010

For all the Viktor & Rolf fans in the world, this fashion show is definitely a treat for us. The prints on the the runway are all about industrial symbols such as screws, ladders and clocks and I already know this show is all about the V&R factory producing their unique V&R dolls.

When the show starts, all you can see is Kristen McMenamy wearing 10 pieces of clothing and after that, you see Viktor and Rolf walk on the stage after her. Acting like a Russian Doll, V&R start to strip off Kristen's  clothes and put on the models. When Kristen is left with only a nude color body suit, the process is reversed and in the end, she is walking away with 9 layers of clothes which let me think this is a suit Lady Gaga will want to wear. This is one of the  most interesting runway shows I have ever seen.

In this collection, all the clothes are in black. Many of the pieces can be used in 2 different ways. One of the examples is the triangular layer dress. When it is worn on Jac, it is a dress; however, when it is on Krisen, it becomes a giant coat. Because of the dual usage, zipper becomes the main focus of this collection. I am not too sure how are people going to wear these clothes on the street, but I am 100% sure diva performers will have no problem wearing them on stage.

Again, I am still amazed by the live fitting on the stage by V&R. In this entry, I will leave you with the video instead of showing you the photos (I think video is far more interesting here). If you want to check the full collection, please click here.
