Trendology: Givenchy Haute Couture Fall 2010

Words cannot describe the beautiful pieces in this collection and it excites me that Richardo Tisci has once again topped his previous collection!

A romantic way to see death, this is what Tisci said during the presentation and I think this is a good phrase to describe the theme of this collection. The inspiration comes from "Frida Kahlo and her three obsessions: religion, sensuality, and, given the painter's lifelong battle with spinal pain, the human anatomy". Skulls and bones are seen throughout the whole collection. Even though black is not used in this collection, you can still sense the gothic vibe (most likely because of the pattern on the articles).

Strong accent of Rhine Stones, lace, beads and crystals are presented in this collection and I am completely memorized by the skeleton gown (definitely worths 1600 hours to make it). Also, it is worth to mention the detailing of the back of the dresses since Tisci wants us to focus on the spin of human beings.

This is simply one amazing Haute Couture collection. Bravo Tisci! Click here to see the complete collection and make sure you click the detail tab too.
