Trendology: Chanel Haute Couture Fall 2010

If I have to set a theme for this Chanel Haute Couture runway show, it will have to be "The Chanel Royalties Of The World".

Seeing the photos of this Haute Couture show is like looking at the revolution of Chanel. For the first half of the show,  you see suits with Chanel signature tweed pattern. To me, this part is more like showcasing the new cutting of the suits and give them a modern look. The pieces in this segment are timeless and the fur element has made the outfits to be more elegant and stunning.

The next part is all about the dresses or gowns that are inspired by the world. I feel like each dress in this segment is telling a story of a particular culture. One of the example is the dress that Sara Blomqvist wears during the show. When I look at it, it just links me to the Spanish culture automatically. Another example is the dress on Freja Beha Erichsen which it totally reminds me of the Gypsy. I am sure Karl must be getting inspiration from around the world and evolves those ideas into this Couture collection. Another big element in this season is the floral print and Karl has used his magic to turn this print into some stunning tops and dresses.

It is also worth to mention the accessories in this collection. The arms of the models are "armed" with thick bracelets and this "material girl" enhancement has made the whole collection to be more youthful and fun. Overall, I am very amazed by Karl's works in this collection and I am glad the Mickey Mouse hairstyle is no longer exist in this collection (but Baptiste in a Lion head? That's a bit odd and funny.).
