Trendology: Missoni RTW Spring 2011
Angela Missoni says, "It's a trip." The geometric patterns and the eccentric colours definitely shows a trip to Japan, Jamaica, Mexico, Vietnam, and Africa. In accordance to the geometric patterns, Missoni lays out everything on a square canvas - the hat, the dresses, the scarf - everything you can think of in this collection is in a form of square. Not only the patterns are in harmony with the geometry and the culture, Missoni had them on the cultural garments as well, kimono, tunic, smocks and caftans, but of course in a form of square. To add more onto the garments, layering, pleating and fringing are part of the design; embellishments such as sequins, beads are also added for the purpose of a cultural influence.
