In this special edition of [Un]Discovers, I am very honored to be able to feature one of the jewelry designers whom has participated in this special TRON: Legacy capsule collection. His name is Robin Rotenier and his brand is called Rotenier.
In this capsule collection, Robin has created accessories for both men and women. For the women collection, there are earrings, cuff bracelets and necklaces which are inspired by the icons in the movie. I am very attracted to the cuff bracelets because they look very classy and futuristic at the same time.
So how did Robin Rotenier come up with this concept?
According to him, "these jewelry pieces are bolder and more futuristic than what (he) traditionally design(s). They have (his) touch, but (he has) never gone that far". I have to agree this collection is very Rotenier and the futuristic element is something I do not see in his other collections.
When asked why he wanted to create a collection for TRON: Legacy, this is what he said,
"I believe the new movie will reach a far wider audience than the original one in 1982, when computers where not in every homes, hands…no smart phones, no kids developing apps back then. I also think that technology has a significant social impact and it shows in fashion and design as well. What I like about my work for TRON most? It is inspired by the Icons in the games and is not literal it will transcend a trend, something one can wear and enjoy for years just like the rest of the work I create, that is what I take pride in; when it’s worn a lot!"

Wow, gorgeous collection. Although TRON is not my thing, I LOVE Jeff Bridges, always have. He still has that gorgeous head of hair, too.
ReplyDeleteOh, I can't wait to see the movie.. since I am a big SCI-FI fan!
