Walk the Walk: Alexander McQueen F/W 2012 Collection

Joy to the world! Alexander McQueen collection is finally seeing the light!

Sarah Burton is bringing us to see her version of the future and let me say, it is quite cheerful and interesting. The Victorian silhouette remains but Burton has given it a modern twist by introducing the pom poms to make pieces look refreshing. At the end of the show, I believe the pom poms must have exploded because you get to see amazing fur pleats gowns. The cuttings of those furs remind me of fiber optics and I think that might be one of her inspirations.

Overall, I am completely in love with this collection and I am excited to see them on editorials in the near future. Joy to the future!

Pros:
- The collection is very futuristic due to the accessories. If this is Sarah Burton's vision on the future, then it should be bright and joyful.
- The way they construct those fur and organza pieces, some of them remind me of fiber optics.
- What a pleasant colour palette! It makes the entire collection so soft and light.
- I really love how Burton has given the modern twist to the Victorian style. This is not every designer can do.

Cons:
- I think it is about time to work on a new design on the heeless shoes. Not saying they are not pretty, but just a little reductive.

Eye Candies:
- White  graphic jacquards jacket  and skirt with fur sleeves
- Shades
- All those metal belts
- Lavender pom pom fur dress
- Red "fiber optics" gown (perfection!)
