Object of Desire: Alexander McQueen Moth Silver-Tone Cufflinks

I always have a thing for Alexander McQueen's accessories, especially their moth design. Few days ago, I discovered this lovely piece.

This pair of cufflinks has the moth shape and I love the skeleton on its back. Even though it is a very small accessory, because of the shape and details, it can easily spice up your suit and tie ensemble.

This pair of cufflinks is now available at Mr Porter!

Walk the Walk: Alexander McQueen S/S 2016 Menswear

Sarah Burton came back with a strong menswear collection for the F/W 2016 season, which really shows the core DNA of the Alexander McQueen brand.

The collection is inspired by Charles Darwin's clothing. The Victorian design is back on the menswear and unlike other seasons, this one is softer because of the prints and the sequin embroideries. But true to the brand's aesthetic, Burton adds some interesting jewellery pieces to show the punk side of the McQueen men. The floral print suit and the red military inspired jacket with the black sequin embroideries are definitely 2 of my favourites in this collection.

I hope this Victorian style will continue with the womenswear collection!

Pros:
- The collection has a softer side because of the prints and sequin embroideries.
- There is a nice Victorian touch on many of the pieces, and this totally reminds me of the old McQueen.
- The accessories are interesting, and the shoes are very nice.
- It looks like the butterfly print could be the next motif for this brand.

Eye Candies:

- The red military jacket with black sequin embroideries
- Floral print suit
- Floral print shoes
- Camel long coat with butterfly print

Object of Desire: Alexander McQueen Porcelain Tree Tie

I am currently seeking a new tie for the new season and this Alexander McQueen tie is probably one of the potential options!
The signature of the Pre S/S 2016 collection is the porcelain tree graphic and it is printed on this white tie. The print reminds me of the Chinese porcelain and the bird is a nice touch to give it a lively vibe.

Should I just close my eyes and click purchase?

Picture Perfect: Hunting Season

Few days ago, Shot by LoveLost invited me to his studio and collaborated on a fashion editorial. Because both of us are photographers, this final product has the best of both worlds.

The theme of this editorial is about the relationship between hunters and preys. We portrait the preys as lost souls because some of the hunters love to disguise themselves and hunt these animals down. At the end of these hunting games, the lost souls will arrive at a different world, whereas the hunters will continue to be the kings of the food chain. In these images, can you define the preys and the hunters?

For this series, I have chosen accessories from Canadian designers Breeyn McCarney, VAWK, NobelSole, Krane and Baffi Collection to collide with Alexander McQueen, Valentino, Louis Vuitton, Brooks Brothers, Bench, G-Star Raw, Cor Sine Labe Doli and Cole Haan. In my opinion, this is one of the best shoots I have ever done!

Who says Canadian designers are not good enough in the International fashion hunting ground?

There is always a soft spot for me for the Alexander McQueen VOSS (S/S 2001) runway show. It is romantic, haunting, and the girls are very vulnerable. In this illustration, Diana illustrated one of the looks and it invites the viewers to think what is really going on inside this McQueen girl's mind. [Read Here]

Object of Desire: Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty Special Edition Scarves

As many of you may know, Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty exhibition is now happening at V&A Museum in London. To celebrate this event, the brand has released 5 special edition (100 units per design) scarves at its online shop.

Each scarf highlights the iconic elements of a particular collection. I specifically love the S/S 2005 & S/S 2010 ones because the prints are beautiful, and they reflect the vibes of the collections flawlessly.

If you want to have a piece of Alexander McQueen history, then I suggest you to visit its online shop as soon as possible. I promise these scarves will sell fast!

Dots[Connection]: Savage Beauty

Here is your weekly Draw A Dot. recap!

The February Illustration Open Call was on the Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty exhibition, and here is one of pieces by Mahyar Kalantari. The outfit is based on a look from the F/W 2009 collection and the mood of the art piece is very dark, gloomy and twisted. This art work truly reflects the Lee Alexander Queen's imaginary world. [Read Here]

I have been a fan of Nuno Da Costa's works for awhile, and here is his latest piece! This is the first look from Gucci S/S 2015 runway show, and I just love the clean and sharp illustration style. The "unfinished" touch gives a raw edge to the art piece, and it makes your brain want to complete the illustration with specific colours. [Read Here]

Walk the Walk: Alexander McQueen F/W 2015 Collection

If rose is a symbol of love, then maybe this Alexander McQueen F/W 2015 collection is a love letter from Sarah Burton to Lee Alexander McQueen.

From embroidery to the fold of the organza, rose is the element that ties everything together. Unlike the S/S 2015 collection, Sarah's creations once again have a very soft, feminine and romantic vibe. When looking at the runway photos, some of the looks are like the evolved versions of the S/S 2012 and F/W 2012 collections, such as the rose organza dress. This collection is very wearable, but without losing the Alexander McQueen artistic touch. From a business point of view, I believe it will sell very well next season.

Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty exhibition at V&A Museum is going to open its doors to the public on March 14, 2015, and I think this collection is a good tribute to the great designer who left us in 2010.

Lee, we miss you.

Pros:
- This is possibly the most wearable collection in Sarah Burton's era to date. Every piece has a nice subtle Alexander McQueen touch.
- Many of the looks are the evolved version of some of the best looks from previous seasons. I see the influence from the S/S 2012 and F/W 2012 collections.
- The idea of rose adds a very romantic touch the to collection.
- The shoes are simply beautiful.

Eye Candies:
- Pale pink rose dress
- Patent leather boots with metal and Perspex heel
- Red lace embroidered trailing rose gown
- Nude colour embroidered rose suit
- Black leather embossed rose jacket with fur collar

Walk the Walk: Alexander McQueen F/W 2015 Menswear Collection

Sarah Burton presented the Alexander McQueen F/W 2015 menswear collection yesterday, and it was another home run!

In this season, the suits are once again very on point, as they look very sharp and clean, with a nice military flare The collection is going back to a darker vibe with a punk twist. The textile is beautiful, especially the red floral one, which reminds me of the red poppies for Remembrance Day. I also love the words on some of the pieces, as they remind me of the qualities of warriors (perhaps these are the modern McQueen fighters). Of course, how can I not fall in love with the multi-panel blazers and coats? These pieces alone show the great craftsmanship of the design team.

Overall, there are a lot of great things in this collection, and I cannot wait to see them starting to hit store in June 2015.

Pros:
- Love the textile in this collection, especially the red floral one.
- It is a very interesting touch to have the words on some of the pieces, those words remind me of the qualities of warriors. Therefore, these are the modern McQueen warriors.
- The multi-panels design really show the flawless craftsmanship of the Alexander McQueen team.
- The socks are some good accessories for this coming season, and I am in love with the leather tie, it reminds me of the spine.
- Love the shoes with the patent leather touch
- The black suites with the silver embellishments are the show stoppers of this show, and for sure will show up on editorials in the upcoming season.

Eye Candies:
- Red floral single breasted suit
- Honour sweater
- Black double breasted suit with silver embellishments
- Tie
- Sock

Object of Desire: Alexander McQueen S/S 2015 Abstract Ties

One of my favourite prints in the S/S 2015 season is the abstract print from Alexander McQueen. It is very sporty, artsy, and has a hint of punk vibe. I am very glad that the design team has released a series of ties based on this amazing print!

The red, black and white one is definitely my top favourite, but if you are a fan of the Prince of Wales pattern, then you will love the black and grey version (it's very abstract and at some point, I feel very dizzy too!).

All 3 ties are now available at Alexander McQueen online store. Get one before they are all gone!

Dots[Connection]: The Dream Collaborations

Here is your weekly Draw A Dot. recap!

Please remember you still have at least a day to submit your illustration based on the Beckerman Sisters! Don't miss out this open call!

Mahyar surprises me with this Valentino S/S 2015 illustration. Instead of showing the romantic vibe of the collection, the illustrator has decided to dress Karen Elson as a fire angel. I just love everything about it! [Read Here]

Gino Paolo Eraña is an illustrator who can combine 2 odd elements to create something beautiful. In here, he takes inspiration from Alexander McQueen F/W 2013 and Cosmo & Wanda from Nickelodeon‘s The Fairly OddParents to a high fashion illustration. I think this is a very refreshing piece, and cannot wait to see more works from him in the future! [Read Here]
