Ever since Sarah Burton become the creative director of Alexander McQueen, the menswear has become more sartorial and I think this is a very good change. For this F/W 2013 season, Burton has injected a flare to the collection.
This collection consists of a lot of patchwork pieces. Instead of using one style of stripes, Burton has applied a few different versions to suits look modern and unique. The collar of the shirt becomes thicker to give a masculine vibe. If you are into prints, those "motif print" suits will most likely be your needs in the coming season.
Without a doubt, this show is giving me a very strong art deco vibe and I believe this maybe the extension of the S/S collection. Now I just wish I will be able to see some of these pieces up close in real life soon.
Pros:
- I really love the suits. The design on the shoulder area on some blazers makes the man look more masculine and edgy.
- The dress shirts are very nice and I love how the collar has a different colour to make it stand out, especially now the collar is sharper and bigger.
- The patchworks make the suit more modern.
- I love the prints and they remind me of stained glasses.
- The entire collection reminds me of the art deco era.
Cons:
- It would be cool if there were some bags with those prints.
Eye Candies:
- The red patchwork blazer
- All the dress shirts
- The black and gold robe
- Suit material sport jacket
