Walk the Walk: Prada F/W 2013 Collection

If you were not convinced Miuccia is the master of "ugly chic" trend, this collection is going to prove her point.

A lot of designers cannot work well with checks and stripes prints because if they use the wrong colour combination or create the wrong silhouette, the clothes can look very cheap. However, under this rich and poor theme, Miuccia has created some "cheap" fabric pieces, but look elegant on the models. I really love the puffy sleeves on many of the outfits and am glad to see the designer is creating some luxurious pieces with exotic materials. Even though embellishment is not a major element in here, it's still very nice to see how these pieces help to make the collection more interesting. Of course, I can assume the shoes and the bags will be something everyone wants to get a piece in this coming season (this has more or less become the trademark of Prada).

If you are looking for something like F/W 2012 collection, this collection may disappoint you. However, if you are looking for something simpler with great small details, this one will most likely be on your good book.

Pros:
- I really like the outwear of this collection, especially each design comes with different material.
- The check print bags are going to be a hit next season
- I personally am a fan of the puffy sleeves, especially the one with fur treatment.
- I am a fan of the colour combinations of the stripes pieces.
- The rich and poor concept is very well played here, and it really shows how Miuccia can master the "ugly chic" idea.

Cons:
- I am really not a huge fan of the wet hair look. It actually has distracted me from enjoying the collection.

Eye Candies:
- Blue/red stripes skirt suit
- Asymmetrical dress
- Red cropped jacket with fur puffy sleeves and blue panels.
- Black dress with embellishments
- Bags
