Walk the Walk: Prabal Gurung S/S 2014 Collection

Prabal Gurung's F/W 2013 collection was all about military and showed the strength of a woman. However, in the S/S 2014 collection, the Prabal lady becomes softer and more feminine.

Marilyn Monroe is the muse for this collection and the clothing pieces are inspired by the 1950s era. In my memory, this collection is probably the most colourful and feminine one to date. I like the silhouette and the embellishments are perfect on most of the pieces. The piece I am most impressed by this collection is the translucent PVC raincoat with the rose print. I think this piece is a great example of classic design meets modern technology.

Overall, this is a stunning collection and definitely is one of my top favourites from New York Fashion Week so far. What do you think?

Pros:
- I absolutely in love with the colour palette of this collection. This is probably the most colourful collection from the designer.
- This collection is very technical, as you can see it from the tweed suit and the PVC raincoat with the rose print.
- The evening series is great and the crystal embellishments are great additions on many of the pieces.
- Can we just look at those amazing prints and be amazed by them?
- I also love the details of this collection, especially the rose buttons.
- The sunglasses are beautiful.

Cons:
- There are a few pieces that remind of me other brands, especially how the print is placed on them.

Eye Candies:
- All the evening dresses
- The blue tweed skirt suit with white rose print
- The rose print translucent PVC raincoat
- Sunglasses
