Walk the Walk: Prada S/S 2015 Menswear Collection

Swimming Pool. Denim. 70s vibe.

Miuccia Prada presented the S/S 2015 Prada menswear collection this weekend, and instead of pushing the envelope for an experimental approach, the designer decided to show the audience her conservative side. There was nothing groundbreaking, but the craftsmanship was the focus of this collection. A lot of denim pieces were presented on the runway, and many of them had white stitches on to emphasize the silhouettes. The knit sweaters had great patterns and were timeless. The only thing that was missing in this collection was the denim accessories. If there were some denim bags on the runway, the entire presentation would be perfect.

Aside from the menswear collection, Miuccia also presented the womenswear 2015 resort collection on the same runway. Those pieces were nice as some of them had the same concept as the men's. Overall, this collection was one of the gems in the S/S 2015 season.

Pros:
- Denim is a major element in this collection. The white stitches add a nice and unfinished feeling to the garments (remind people on how garments are made)
- The knit sweaters are very nice, especially the patterns.
- A lot of great shirts to choose from this season, the blue/white/black stripes one particularly stands out.
- The entire collection has a 70s vibe, but with a modern tailoring.

Cons:
- I am surprised the brand did not introduce any denim accessories in this collection. A denim briefcase would be fun.

5 MUST HAVE:
- Green leather long coat
- Brown and white knit sweater
- Black and white pattern knit sweater
- Denim jacket with white stitches
- Denim blazer with white stitches
