This collection is divided into 2 parts: pieces that are inspired by the works of Helen Frankenthaler (abstract expressionist painter) and Robert Morris (minimalist sculptor), and the garments guests wear to an art gallery opening. The art inspired garments are surprisingly very wearable and fashion forward. The final gown with all the eyelets and fur will be a great cover image of an art magazine. On the other hand, if you are looking for clothes to wear at events, there are plenty of great fur pieces, and you can even pick one of the Robert Morris inspired coats! They are just lovely!
After looking at this collection, there is no doubt Proenza Schouler will be in the fashion scene for a very long time. Congrats on an amazing collection!
Pros:
- The collection is inspired by the gallery opening. It is very interesting to see how Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez have divided it into 2 parts: the artwork garments and the opening night garments for the guests.
- Really love the Robert Morris inspired pieces, they look very abstract and fashionable.
- The pieces that are inspired by Helen Frankenthaler's dripping artworks are very modern and artistic.
- In love with the final pieces, they are wearable artworks. They also make me think Jack and Lazaro have created their own New York tribe.
Cons:
- Still not too sure about the footwear in this collection.
Eye Candies:
- The final gallery dress
- The grey tweed coat with wide width belt
- Helen Frankenthaler inspired off shoulder dress
- Robert Morris inspired abstract long coat
