Picture Perfect: Fusion Six - Rebellious Squad - Caitlin Power & Matthew Gallagher

Caitlin Power & Mathew Gallagher are two of my favourite fashion designers in Toronto. In the past few years, they have successfully established their names with their amazing creations. I always love to hang out with these 2 people because they are fun and on the same brain wavelength as me.

Caitlin Power

Caitlin is the real #PowerWoman in my world. I fell in love with her designs when I first visited her website back in 2010. Thanks to the White Cashmere show, or else I would not be able to meet this talented person. Her bright personality constantly gives me hope in life. Caitlin, do you still remember that night we sat at Nadege and talked about our goals? We have accomplished a lot!” - Marcus

Inspiration of the shirt & sneakers:
"I approached my t-shirt design similar to how I would approach my womenswear design; I sectioned off the body, playing with proportions to make it look slimmer. I decided to paint the whole shirt black and silver, leaving barely any white left over - I wanted it to be different.

I decided to keep the sneakers simple. Again playing with proportions, I used the style lines on the converse as a guide, and filled in the blanks. I added silver to the toe, and silver and black to the back part of the shoe.

Both projects were inspired by the paint I was using, and the idea of playing with proportions." - Caitlin

Matthew Gallagher

“In my world, Matthew is always the outsider in this industry. He does not care too much about the rules in this industry and continues to amaze people with his own creations. Aside from fashion, I have been a fan of his illustration works for more than 2 years. Outside of work, our conversations are always full of crazy jokes. It is hard to know someone who has similar point of views as me and Matthew is one of them.” - Marcus

Inspiration of the shirt & sneakers:
"My favourite part of the design process is the initial sketching. There is something therapeutic for me about putting what is in my head on paper and it gets me excited for the up coming season. For this project I wanted to focus on the beginning stages of the illustration itself and use just the head which can allow people to use their imagination as to what the rest of the sketch will become." - Matthew
