Sarah Burton came back with a strong menswear collection for the F/W 2016 season, which really shows the core DNA of the Alexander McQueen brand.
The collection is inspired by Charles Darwin's clothing. The Victorian design is back on the menswear and unlike other seasons, this one is softer because of the prints and the sequin embroideries. But true to the brand's aesthetic, Burton adds some interesting jewellery pieces to show the punk side of the McQueen men. The floral print suit and the red military inspired jacket with the black sequin embroideries are definitely 2 of my favourites in this collection.
I hope this Victorian style will continue with the womenswear collection!
Pros:
- The collection has a softer side because of the prints and sequin embroideries.
- There is a nice Victorian touch on many of the pieces, and this totally reminds me of the old McQueen.
- The accessories are interesting, and the shoes are very nice.
- It looks like the butterfly print could be the next motif for this brand.
Eye Candies:
- The red military jacket with black sequin embroideries
- Floral print suit
- Floral print shoes
- Camel long coat with butterfly print
