Walk the Walk: Vera Wang F/W 2012 Collection

For this season, Vera Wang has divided her collection into 4 colours section: camel, red, black and blue. Sheer material is used throughout the collection and I am in love with the diamond shape pattern. Also, the digital print has made the collection to be edgy and modern. As for the silhouette, Wang tries to keep everything in proportion except the outerwear. The outerwear is making the Vera Wang lady looks bold and confident. If you consider yourself a very edgy person, I would recommend you to take a few digital print tops and use some effort to style them with appropriate pants and accessories.

Pros:
- The digital print is very edgy, and the big cross design on the chest area is unique.
- Even though this is a F/W collection, I like how daring Vera is by using sheer materials on the pieces.
- Love the bright red colour on some of the pieces, very refreshing, loud and bold.
- The diamond shape pattern is very nice and the last 2 blue gowns with crystals on this pattern are very elegant and modern.

Cons:
- A few pieces have too much ruffles, hard to make the ladies look beautiful. (Still can, but you really need some serious stylings)

Eye Candies: 
- Blue gown with diamond pattern in crystals
- Black leather diamond pattern sleeveless dress

Walk the Walk: Vera Wang Spring 2012 Ready-to-Wear Collection

I don't recall Vera Wang had such colourful collection before, this 2012 ready-to-wear collection is to my surprise.  The colourful gowns made a wonderful transition on the runway as the show started from Vera Wang's signature white. There is no dramatic fluffy gowns, but light chiffon dresses.  Also, some geometry started to emerge in Wang's design with structural fabric.

Pros:
- the use of colourful scheme
- harmony cuts make the collection solid from plain to rich colour
- chiffon dresses keep Wang's dreamy and fairy tale style

Cons:
- the long chiffon dress can have more variations below the waist

Eye Candies:
- the yellow gown
- the colourful peplum

Fashionist[On The Go]: Vera Wang Gowns for Kim Kardashian

Two news caught my eyes this week so let's start with this one...

The biggest news of this past week was the Kim Kardashian wedding and I am sure by now you may have seen the official photos in this issue of People Magazine. Fashionist[On The Go]: Daphne, you in NYC again?

There wasn't a lot of news going on in the fashion industry this week but these 2 news may suit your taste.

As many of you know, Kim Kardashian is going to get marry in less than 3 weeks and finally she has revealed which designer is going to design her wedding gown. I am actually not surprised to see Vera Wang pop up on the screen as she is pretty much known as the celebrity wedding gown designer. What do you think [Read Here]

Trendology: Vera Wang Spring Summer 2011

'The shimmering moonlight drizzled.' is how I wish to describe this surprisingly romantic collection even with her unsurprising dark colour theme.  And yet, believe it or not the inspiration here is - Kill Bill - where East meet West.  Influencing by the Japanese traditional fashion and culture, the complex layering of their traditional fashion, Vera intended to use this language to convey the complexity of women through her fashion.  Kimono blouse, Japanese floral print of silk wool Geisha dress, obi dresses, chiffon origami blouse, and so on, are all in the language of Japanese fashion; where hand-ruched draped gown with train,  sheer organza, faille coat, all the twisting and wrapping are all about complexity of the fashion, or of the women.

Trenodolgoy: Vera Wang RTW Fall 2010

Vera Wang, with her special talent to make every girl in town sexy.  In New York Fashion Week, she pushed it even further than usual by having the entire collection in black with occasional white blouses .  With this colour theme, the collection became mysterious and moody as well.  The multi-strand seed pearls played a really huge part in this collection.  Contrasting with the black little dress, it gives a soft and elegance look to the dress on top of the mysteriousness.
