Trendology: Chanel Fall/Winter 2010 Collection

Karl is taking the global warming issue to the next level in this runway show. For the stage effect, icebergs are transported from Scandinavia to the runway in Paris and to make the runway looks like a sea, the water is tinted in blue. This is a breathtaking setting and I feel like I am watching a runway show in North Pole.

In this season, Karl's concept is to imagine Chanel ladies living in either North or South pole on Earth. The collection is probably inspired by Yeti the monster as you can see fake fur coats, pants are on the models' bodies throughout the show. I find it amazing that he can weave the fake fur to the Chanel signature tweeds  to create something that has both the classic and modern elements in it. Karl has also created his signature tie and suit look for the womenswear and I think the outcome is very sleek.

Aside from the fake fur pants, I am loving all the things I see in this collection. For the full collection, please click here.
