Trendology: Roksanda Ilincic Resort 2011

The London-based designer, Roksanda Ilincic, was inspired by a field of bright yellow flowers on her way to Sicily.  The collection, of course, features bright yellow colour, as well as pale blue and cream.  Despite of the appearance of the bright yellow, the overall impression of the collection is soft.  She used vivid silk gazar fabric and silk satin for cocktail and evening dress respectively.  The bright yellow is stunning every where it appears in the collection; the short cocktail dress with drape down to the ankle, puffball cocktail dress, or as an accent belt on an indigo blue full length dress.  The pale blue and cream are as gorgeous as the yellow in the collection.  The floor length drape and the combination of the two colour make it easy on the eye.  Indeed, fabulous without any complications.
