Sarah Burton had proved that she's the right person to carry on McQueen's legacy. Burton embedded her own style into the design successfully, allowing the designs to appear with fresh new style under the name of McQueen, yet staying true to Lee's style of fashion. The collection consists of plain colours, which we rarely see from Lee, yet we see his silhouette in the collection - dark romance, brocades, and embroidery all presented in the collection. The kimono evening gown is truly a signature revisit of McQueen's work by Burton. The golden embroidery made a great contrast with the black, along with the clean cut line of the dress, it balanced out the complexity of the embroidery perfectly.
Even though the collection reminds us of the lost of a great artist, at this critical era of the brand, it is now appearing as a very strong and promising brand that has the ability to continue Lee's legacy to the future.
