Picture Perfect: Louis Vuitton Series 4 Featuring Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII

Louis Vuitton S/S 2016 collection is inspired by Japanese Anime culture so it totally makes sense to have an iconic video game character to star in the latest campaign. Recently, Nicolas Ghesquière, the creative director of Louis Vuitton, has released the first few images of the series 4 campaign and they feature Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII.

It's not the first time Lightning dresses in luxury brand's clothing (previously she was dressed in Prada S/S 2012 menswear) but this is her debut as the campaign face of a brand. The clothing fit the aesthetic of the character and I really like the animation. Overall, it is a very refreshing approach and I am hoping to see more interesting crossovers (anime x fashion, comics x fashion, cartoon x fashion) in the future. Also, this is a very smart move for the brand as cosplay people do have money to spend on clothes (trust me, I have witnessed this phenomenal myself).

What do you think?

Object of Desire: Fjallraven Canada For The Jolly Guy

We know at least one guy is looking forward to December 26th. It’s the day after his busiest day of the year! Having accomplished the fastest overnight global distribution of parcels we are guessing he wants to let loose and enjoy the great outdoors. To help him get the most out of his adventures we teamed up with Fjallraven Canada to outfit him in the best functional clothing.

First off he is going to need a warm jacket as we hear it is rather chilly up in his neck of the woods. The Greenland No. 1 Down Jacket is based off of the original with the added benefit of down to keep him toasty. Lots of pockets are present for small objects or to bury his chilly hands into. If the wind gets nasty or it starts to pour, this wind and water resistant jacket will keep him safe.

The Keb Trousers are perfect for his hike as they are designed to move and last. Pre-shaped rear and knees improve mobility while climbing to the top for the best view and lots of selfies. Zippered ventilation openings in all the right spots are ready when he works up a sweat and did we mention pockets again? He is basically wearing a file cabinet great for snacks. Hit him up for a granola bar if you see him. What, you were expecting milk and cookies?
He’ll want to put a lid on it to keep the heat in and Byron Hat with its ribbed knit lambswool is the right choice. The wool helps keep him warm while the thin weave makes sure his noggin still is able to breath and not sweat. It’s red, the season’s hottest colour of course and we think it really does suit him.

Find more outdoor lifestyle gear from Fjallraven Canada online at www.fjallravencanada.com and get inspired by following @fjallravencanada on instagram.

Dots[Connection]: Queens from the other world

Here is your Draw A Dot. weekly recap!

My final collaboration piece with Nuno Da Costa is here! The Queen of Diamonds is dressed in an outfit from the Proenza Schouler F/W 2015 collection. I love the pose and the outfit just fits perfectly with her image! [Read Here]

Mond Kim created this amazing illustration that is inspired by the Dolce & Gabbana collections. The composition is amazing and it is very surreal with a mysterious vibe! I am still thinking she is the evil version of Snow White. Perfection!   [Read Here]

Event: In Good Company - Sashiko Denim Repair Workshop

Patchwork on denim is one of the major trends in the fashion world and I am always interested in learning how to sew the patches on my denim jeans. Lucky for me, I was invited by Lance and Sharad to learn about this technique on Monday night with some of my good friends.

In good company with Christopher Tuner, Jonathan Cavaliere, Sharad Mohan, Chris Aznar, Daniel Ocean, Marc Andrew Smith, Lance Chung and Nigel Seebaran

The workshop was held at THE SHOP and Bree Zorel (the instructor) introduced us to the art of Sashiko. Sashiko is a Japanese decorative sewing technique which in the past was used to repair worn areas with patches, or to reinforce points of wear. Nowadays, a lot of people are using this technique to decorate their clothes.

Each of us was given 2 pairs of jeans and a chambray shirt from Paige denim to create our own DIY piece. Thanks to the inspiration board that was loaded on the Samsung Galaxy View, I decided to use 2 pattern patches and create 2 rectangular shapes on the right side of my denim. As a person who doesn't have much sewing knowledge, I did learn a lot in this 2.5-hour session. I don't know if sewing is really my forte, but because of this fun workshop, I don't mind to take more sewing lessons in the future.

I feel very fortunate to be able to spend a wonderful night with some of my great friends and learned something new related to my work field. Also, thanks to The Carbon Bar & Peroni for feeding us with yummy food and great beers! I cannot wait to see what kind of thing we will learn in the next episode of In Good Company! Thanks Lance & Sharad!

Object of Desire: Star Wars x Stance Socks

I did my morning coffee run this morning and on the way back, I brought back something extra. As a fan of Star Wars, I just cannot resist the temptation of this special collection!

To celebrate the new release of the Star Wars movie, Stance Socks has collaborated with the franchise to release a capsule collection. Some of your favourite characters are now in sock form and a few pairs actually have different print for each sock (e.g. you get R2D2 & C3PO as a combo). You can now purchase this collection online or at selected retail stores! Follow my Instagram and see which pair I got!

May the force be with you!

Object of Desire: RJ-Romain Jerome x Super Mario Bros 30th Anniversary Timepiece

A lot of people know I am a gamer and Super Mario Bros is always one of my favorites! This year is the game's 30th anniversary and RJ-Romain Jerome has created a special timepiece to celebrate this milestone!

The face of the watch consists of Mario himself and the giant mushroom. I love the 8-bit graphics because they totally bring me back so many childhood memories! I still remember I could stay up all night playing the game!

RJ-Romain Jerome has produced only 85 pieces of this watch. Now I wonder where I can get my hands on it!
