[On]Air: Dream Sequence Indiegogo Campaign

You all know I am a huge fan of Madame Peripetie's works, and now one of her projects is turning into a book!

In early 2014, Madame Peripetie will release her Dream Sequence book, which has taken her over 3 years to complete. But before that, she needs £10,000 to support this personal project and the fund will be using for proof-printing, printing, book-binding, font licensing, professional text editing, perks, shipping costs and the indiegogo / credit card / PayPal fees.

If you are going to support this campaign, at different levels you will receive different gifts such as signed books and prints from two of the images. If you are a a fan of Madame Peripetie's works, then please visit this Indigogo page and support her!

Ray of Inspirology: Dream Sequence 2013

You all know that I am a die hard fan of Madame Peripetie's works, especially her Dream Sequence series. I know that she is coming out with a book soon but before that, she has released some more new images from this series!

As usual, the images are so surreal and dreamy. I think the butterfly one and the cucumber one are my favourites as they are very creative. I honestly cannot wait to see her book and hopefully she will release more images before the release!

Ray of Inspirology: Dream Sequence 2012

Dream Sequence is always one of my favourite projects from Madame Peripetie and in 2012, she has expanded this project with some new images.

As usual, each model is standing in front of a black background and wearing some amazing fashion pieces to create a surreal atmosphere. The series continues to be very dreaming and gives us a space to think about the possibility of different fashion combinations.

Ray of Inspirology: Metamorphosis

If you are my regular reader, you should know I am a big fan of Madame Peripetie's works. Recently she has a new editorial and I am once again mesmerized by it. The whole spread is mostly in white, and the pop of red has made it very interesting. Without further ado, the following are the breathtaking images.

"The metamorphosis series was shot for a jewelry designer Daisy Feng.
The process of mutation and Kafkaesque transformation of the body to a immortal statue and a mutual dialog between the ethereal jewelry objects, the feminine human figure and the expandable texture of fabric evolve into a futuristic architectonic world. 

The veiled corporal inspirations came form Kevin Francis Gray and his meditative, somber aesthetic. The architectonic part of the project, focuses primarily on the manipulation of structure and performance of the unexpected inspired by the “Snakitectural” work of David Arsham. 

A woman enveloped in white fabric wearing delicate fibrous jewelry merges into a building/ chair gradually absorbing the features of the construction in order to finally synthesize with its architecture, becoming a new unreachable hyper-constructed object of desire."

Simply amazing!

Art[s]ense: A Year In Review - 2011

Before I start anything new this year, I just want to take a moment and talk about my experience at Swide.

2011 was an interesting year for me as I was lucky to have the chance to write for Dolce & Gabbana's Swide online magazine. I have been a contributor for the magazine for almost a year now and almost every week I introduced a talented fashion photographer/illustrator to the international audience. It was quite a journey for me and I was (and still am) fortunate to be able to discover so many talented artists around the world. I have to admit, this is a true blessing for me to be surrounded by so many wonderful people and I cannot thank enough the Swide team for making my writing job so fun!

This year I will continue to be a writer for the magazine and you will continue to see some awesome art works by different illustrators/ photographers around the world. I promise you the quality of these artists will just get better! Below is a little taste of who I have featured in the past year.

Madame Peripetie has created yet another AMAZING editorial!

This series is actually for a Berlin label called MOGA E MAGO and the clothes you see in the images are from the S/S 2012 collection. As always, I am loving the surreal feeling of the images and the pink has added a whimsical feeling to the series. What do you think?

Ray of Inspirology: Dream Sequence II

Last year, I have shown you Madame Peripetie's Dream Sequence and I am always hoping to see more from this series. Well, my wish is granted and Madame Peripetie has just sent me these 3 images and I am absolutely in love with them. Keep an eye on this site as we will have more cool images from this series and I heard from Madame that she might have a self-published book coming out too, maybe she can give us a sneak peek of it?

Ray of Inspirology: Show Off: Royal Academy of Arts Antwerp Class of 2011

If you put two of my favorites, Madame Peripetie and Royal Academy of Arts Antwerp Master students together, what do you get?

Answer: An outstanding fashion portrait set! 

Madame Peripetie continues to post the surrealism twist on the images and these graduates all look very stunning. Of course, there is a strong futuristic vibe here and Rolf Buck (stylist) and Julia Heiermann (makeup/hair) have done an amazing job on the styling and makeup/hair. No doubt, this is a very breathtaking portrait series.

Congrats to Frederick Hornof, Yusuke Hotchi, Leonneke Derksen, En-Ya Vanoenhende, Karolina Piech, Jantine Van Peski and Niels Peeraer for completing the Master degree. Bravo!

Ray of Inspirology: Birds

One of my favorite photographers, Madame Peripetie, has just posted another amazing editorial on Behance and this set makes my jaw drop!

This set of images is shot for Tata Christiane, a clothing designer. As usual, the images are very surreal and stunning. The clothes are unique and edgy which fit so well with Madame Peripetie's photography style! Also, the simple color background has made the fashion pieces to stand out. I definitely would love to see more collaborations between these 2 artists in the future.

As a fan of Madame Peripetie, I am instantly falling in love with this series when I see it on the web!

Once again, the shoot is very dreamy and surreal. I am love the clothing choice here and every photo will remind me some of the dreams I have. The lighting, as usual, is superb here. What more can I say? I will just leave this set to your interpretation.

[Un]Discovers: Madame Peripetie

I start to believe in the love at first sight theory as this [Un]Discovers section continues to grow. Madame Peripetie has memorized me with her stunning photos when I first visited her site. Her photos are artistic and dramatic. Because of how much I admire her talent, I have decided to dedicate this editoion of [Un]Discovers to her! Get ready to see some amazing photos and read my interview with her!

Hi Madame Peripetie, I am so excited that you agree to let me feature you on this blog! I know you have a master degree in Linguistics, what made you want to change career path to become a photographer?
Well, I always wanted to work visually - my BA was all about Norwegian theater and theory of drama - it just happened to develop this way. Photoghraphy changed my life completely as I started working with visual "surface" - not only 2D but also 3D - sculpture, costumes and interaction between body and space. I found it very challenging combining the syntactic and semiotic elements of the language with visual ones and include theatre components as light and stage into my work. Now I'm focusing more on the dramatic composition and the its key concepts such as anagnorisis and catharsis mainly because i'm moving more to video and film.

This editorial makes my eyes glow!

This spread is shot by Madame Peripetie (she does the styling and production too) and it is featured in The Ones2Watch. My reaction to this editorial is simply in awe! The art direction is amazing, the makeup and hair styling by Anja Schweihoff is flawless and Xenia and Volker are simply doing some amazing posing in this series. The exaggerated clothing are something that I can't find in here. How much I wish I were in Germany right now...
