Object of Desire: Marni + Porter-Yoshida & Co Adjustable Twill Backpack

I always have my eyes on the Marni x Porter-Yoshida collaboration and for this season, I am putting this bag on my wishlist!

The cool thing about this bag is that there are 2 ways to use it: you can use it as a backpack, or roll away the top part to make it a belt bag. The Marni pattern truly reflects the brand's aesthetic and also the green will go well with a lot of pieces in your wardrobe. As a big fan of Porter-Yoshida, I guarantee this bag can last you a few seasons.

You can now purchase this bag on Mr Porter.

Object of Desire: Marni Neoprene High-Top Sneakers

When it comes to footwear, I personally love lace-up shoes because I like the bow. However, once awhile, I do come across a pair of great slip on sneakers, just like the following pair.

This pair of sneakers is from Marni. I am always a fan of neoprene and I love the buckle design of this sneaker. The green and yellow add a nice pop touch to the black and white combination. The product is now available at Mr Porter. I suggest you to get it as soon as possible!

This series by VROSS is very interesting. The artists uses geometric shapes to show the aesthetic of different brands. The Marni one is definitely my favourite.  [Read Here]

Trendology: Romina Quiros x Marni Winter Edition 2013

For this coming season, Marni is going to collaborate with Romina Quiros to create a capsule collection.

For this collaboration, Consuelo Castiglioni has chosen 3 designs from Romina and all of them are figures in a slightly abstract form. The collection consists of t-shirts, bags and iPad cases. My favourite is definitely the iPad case as they add a fun edge to the device.

This collection will be available in Marni stores and marni.com in June. Are you excited?

Trendology: Marni Striped Shearling and Houndstooth Tweed Coat

Houndstooth and shearling, they combine to create a "yummy" coat.

This coat is from Marni's latest collection. The houndstooth pattern gives a quite classy impression, yet the colourful shearling is adding a fun factor to the piece. I really like it and I think whoever is going to purchase this coat will be wearing it all season long, day and night.

Trendology: Marni Embellished Cotton Poplin Collar

Detachable collar has become one of the big accessory pieces in these few seasons and Marni has one that really catches my eyes. I really like the floral embellishments on it which makes the collar look very feminine and refreshing. If you need to add a nice touch to your simple outfit, this collar will be perfect for you.

Fashionist[On The Go]: Oh, It's Marni!

Let's see, this week, I found these interesting stories on the Fashionist to share with you...

So while we are all still digesting the aftermath of Versace for H&M and getting ready for the 2nd wave, this week, H&M announced the latest collaborator and it is Marni. The collection will be on sale at selected sotres (260 in the world) on March 8, 2012. [Read Here]

Versace, David Beckham and now Marni, I wonder what's next for H&M in 2012 (source: the Fashionist)

Monday night was the 2011 British Fashion Awards and of course, all the attendees dressed up nicely for this event. Well, while Victoria Beckham and Sarah Burton dressed well for the event, the spotlight was definitely on Daphne Guinness. Well see it yourself below. [Read Here]

I am always a Gareth Pugh fan, but this time... not so much (source: the Fashionist)

Trendology: Marni Spring RTW 2011

The first thing that we noticed in this collection is probably the tight leather cap that already says a lot about the collection - luxury athleticism.  There is no doubt the collection is influenced by scuba diving with the hat and the outfit, yet Consuelo Castiglioni turned it into a feminine luxury item for women.  The laser cut leather jackets are one of the most eye catching pieces, it eliminated the heaviness of leather and turned into a layer that stands alone perfectly but speaking the same language with the pieces below. Layering is one huge play here as leather skirt is added onto the scuba diving outfit, cycling shorts are to wear with lace pieces.  Asymmetrical designs are emerging as the show goes, also scuba diving outfit, yet ruffles are added at the hip line with eccentric colour that makes it young and playful.  Vintage print dresses are also included in the collection, it is so timeless that it's like something from your grandmother's closet but you wish you can throw it on one day just for the beauty of it.

Trendology: Collection of Fun Tote Bags

These colourful tote bags had caught my eyes for awhile, I cannot stop myself from touching them when I see them around in the department store.  Even though they are not made from leather or other decent materials, they give me a sense of relaxation and free style.  Most importantly, the doodling reminds me of my worry-free time when I was a kid.

Trenodolgy: Marni RTW Fall 2010

I'm seeing Marni as a brand that always go for simplicity.  This season too, simplicity, but with a variation of colours that added a touch of positivity to the collection.  Going beyond the plain, bright colours, Castiglioni is giving out some shapes including futuristic geometries, Gary Hume's playful paintings, pattern from the 70's, and Marni polka dots which I found the most interesting in the collection. Other than the unique polka dots, the short overskirt is another fun part of the collection.  And have you notice, Bermuda shorts are the ultimate matching pants in this collection?
