Ray of Inspirology: Fade Into You

When you put pretty model and flowers together, you usually get interesting result. The following editorial is a good example.

This editorial is shot by Pierre Debusschere for Dazed and Confused. Zuzanna Bijoch is styled by Robbie Spencer and she looks like a floral fairy. The concept is very neat, and with the addition of flowers provided by Mark Colle, the entire series has become a fairytale. There is also a short film about this shoot and you can watch it here.

What a wonderful, and memorable editorial!

Ray of Inspirology: Grimes by Hedi Slimane

You know it will be good when Hedi Slimane is the photographer for the spread and this one, is no exception.

Featured in the latest issue of Dazed & Confused, Canadian singer Clarie Boucher, aka Grimes is lensed by Slimane. As usual, Slimane likes to shoot his object in black and white style. In general, this shoot has a very intense feeling and I especially like the last underwater photo. You can click here to see the full set.

Ray of Inspirology: Dazed & Confused S/S Menswear Spread

Now it's time to show you some cool S/S 2012 menswear editorials!

Below is an very cool series featured in the Dazed & Confused. The series is shot by Ben Toms and styled by Robbie Spencer. Yannick Abrath is dressed in Prada, Givenchy, Burberry Prorsum, D&G, just to name a few and you can see the trend is all about patterns and bright colours. I find this to be a very useful guide as Spencer has brilliantly paired the high fashion clothes with some cool streetwear sneakers. This is a good reference guide for all the guys out there who want to dress differently than others.

Ray of Inspirology: Ben Toms for Dazed and Confused

In the latest issue of Dazed and Confused,  Ben Toms has created a rather interesting editorial featuring Querelle Jansen. The setting is actually very simple but what make this series special is the amazing styling by Katie Shillingford (hair by Martin Cullen and makeup by Janeen Witherspoon). The clothes have made the images so colourful and who would have thought to put a Hello Kitty and a Spongebob balloon on the set? I find the series to be very playful and bold. What do you think?

Ray of Inspirology: Daft Punk For Dazed And Confused

As the release date of TRON: Legacy is approaching, I am not surprised to see a lot of interviews, editorials and promotion photos on magazines and websites. Recently, Daft Punk, the French music duo has graced the cover of Dazed and Confused. What makes this editorial better is the whole photo set is in 3D! I really love the location of the shoot and Daft Punk looks so classy in this shoot!

Now it is time for you to put on your 3D glasses!

Ray of Inspirology: Devil's Daughter

This is one devilicious editorial and I can't take my eyes off it!

this editorial is featured in the latest issue of Dazed and Confused and it is photographed by Anthony Maule. Here, Dafne Cejas is transformed into the devil and with the styling and lighting effect, she looks evil and edgy. I am loving this set because the mood of the photos can totally reflect the title. Does this editorial evil enough to suit your taste?

Ray of Inspirology: Roe Ethridge For Dazed & Confused August 2010

Reinventing the supermodels is hard but Dazed & Confused is taking the risk to tackle this task!

In the latest issue of Dazed & Confused, photographer Roe Ethridge and stylist Katie Shillingford are taking the roles to reinvent these 7 supermodels: Alek Wek, Julia Stegner, Tasha Tilberg, Christina Kruse, Hannelore Knuts, Ana Beatriz Barros and Karolina Kurkova. The result of this shoot is simply amazing and I am especially attracted to the face shots of Karolina Kurkova and Ana Beatriz Barros. The conclusion is: the reinvention of the supermodels is a great success!

Ray of Inspirology: Extra Dazed and Confused May 2010 Fashion Preview

Ben Toms and Dazed Menswear Editor Robbie Spencer have finally teamed up once again. This shoot is inspired by 1970's hippies, and communal living, Amanda Norgaard appears alongside Douglas, Felix, kirill, Janina and Louise in a mystical English country garden.

This is definitely a cool location shoot and the black and white effect just makes the photos look timeless

Note: not safe for work

Ray of Inspirology: Tim Richardson for Dazed & Confused March 2010

This shoot that is done by Tim Richardson is really attractive to me and here are the reasons. First, this shoot is done in both outdoor and indoor. For the indoor shoot, the photos have a big contrast and going towards a more monotone style but on the other hand, the outdoor shoot is more dark and has less contrast. Jessica Miller is definitely doing a good job by posing great in the photos and the clothes just fit her flawlessly that they become part of her body (love Katie Shillingford styling skills).

If you want to see this editorial in physical prints, make sure you get the March issue of Dazed & Confused.

Ray of Inspirology: Myf Shepherd for Dazed & Confused Japan February 2010

Dazed & Confused Japan has a very interesting editorial done by a Japanese photographer named  Yasunari Kikuma. I find this shoot interesting because this photographer has basically muted a lot of the colors and give you a gloomy and mysterious feeling. I also have admit Myf is striking some stunning poses here and the Lanvin one is definitely my favorite shot.

I like editorial shoot that has the photographer's attitude blends into it and this shoot is definitely a good example to showcase what I am saying.

Ray of Inspirology: The Amsterdam Chainsaw Massacre

Viktor & Rolf's spring summer collection has to be one of the most interesting collections I have seen in the first half of 2010. If you haven't seen the collection, fear not, because in the latest issue of Dazed and Confused,  Josh Olins has done an editorial shoot featuring Magdalena Frackowiak. I really like this shoot because Katie Shillingford, the stylist has used the Flower Bomb commercial look as one of the inspirations.

If you want to see interesting dresses, I do recommend you to take a look at this editorial shoot. I would love to take any of the dresses below and do an interesting shoot myself.
