Ray of Inspirology: Institute White

I think the most fascinated thing about this editorial is not the photos (no doubt, they are amazing), it's how Crystal Renn has really evolved.

This editorial is shot by Steven Klein and it features Karolina Kurkova and Crystal Renn. I am in love with the madhouse setting and  the dark vibe, which create great contrast to the white clothes the models are wearing. As I said, Crystal Renn has really evolved and I can barely see her fun side now (remember back in the days she was a plus size model and did a lot of funky editorials?). No, I am not complaining, I just feel like she has gone to another level.

Ray of Inspirology: Sur Tous Les Tons

Nagi Sakai creates a very nice editorial for Elle France December 2011 issue and it features super model Karolina Kurkova. The interesting part about this series is the colour combination. The background in some of the images are consisted of 2 colours and surprisingly, it works very well with the clothes picked by Michele Beaurenaut. What do you think? Do you like what you see here?

Honestly, I don't see how the title relates to this spread, but regardless, the photos are beautiful here.

This spread is shot by Danielle & Iango and it is featured in the latest issue of i-D. The models here are Carmen Kass, Natasa Vojnovic, Natasha Poly, Liya Kebede, Lily Donaldson, Guinevere Van Seenus, Joan Smalls, Missy Rayder, Julia Stegner, Karolina Kurkova, Danielle Z, Valerija Kelava, Lindsey Wixson and Lui Wen. The series is in black and white and every single model looks very sexy here. Somehow, this spread reminds me of those modeling agencies' packages, don't you think so?

Ray of Inspirology: Marc Jacobs

The latest issue of Interview is full of great editorials and this is one of them.

Shot by Mikael Jansson, this spread features Marc Jacobs, Hanne Breuning, Joan Smalls & Karolina Kurkova. All the models in this shoot are dressed in Marc Jacobs' pieces (LV, Marc Jacobs, you name it). The lighting is making the shots very timeless and classy and I can't find one thing that I don't like from this shoot. Out of all the shots, I think the Marc Jacobs portrait is my favorite one.

Reinventing the supermodels is hard but Dazed & Confused is taking the risk to tackle this task!

In the latest issue of Dazed & Confused, photographer Roe Ethridge and stylist Katie Shillingford are taking the roles to reinvent these 7 supermodels: Alek Wek, Julia Stegner, Tasha Tilberg, Christina Kruse, Hannelore Knuts, Ana Beatriz Barros and Karolina Kurkova. The result of this shoot is simply amazing and I am especially attracted to the face shots of Karolina Kurkova and Ana Beatriz Barros. The conclusion is: the reinvention of the supermodels is a great success!
