Ray of Inspirology: Premiers Roles

This editorial reminds me why I used to like Crystal Renn...

From the latest issue of Vogue Paris, Crystal Renn and Adrien Sahores are the subjects for photographer Giampaolo Sgura. I love the black and white images as they are very classy and timeless. Crystal Renn nails the series and her eyes are just full of emotion and energy.

I don't know when this shoot took place but I really hope Crystal will go back to this look as soon as possible. The blonde version of her just doesn't work for me.

Ray of Inspirology: Institute White

I think the most fascinated thing about this editorial is not the photos (no doubt, they are amazing), it's how Crystal Renn has really evolved.

This editorial is shot by Steven Klein and it features Karolina Kurkova and Crystal Renn. I am in love with the madhouse setting and  the dark vibe, which create great contrast to the white clothes the models are wearing. As I said, Crystal Renn has really evolved and I can barely see her fun side now (remember back in the days she was a plus size model and did a lot of funky editorials?). No, I am not complaining, I just feel like she has gone to another level.

Click here to see the complete series (and one of them is really NSFW).

Ray of Inspirology: Mi Vida Logo

It's the Logomania in the November issue of Vogue Japan!

Styled by Anna Dello Russo, this editorial is shot by Giampaolo Sgura featuring Cyrstal Renn. We all should be very familiar with the Anna Dello Russo's creative headpieces and this time, she has used the logos of different brands as inspiration and put them on Crystal Renn's head. I always like to see Crystal Renn in editorials and I think now she has evolved to become a classy and elegant lady. A very well done editorial!

Ray of Inspirology: A Call For Camp

Crystal Renn has aced this editorial with her "effortless" poses!

This series is shot by Nathaniel Goldberg and it is featured in the latest issue of Vogue Japan. The images are like eye candies because the color combinations can easily capture your eyes. I am loving the styling and the statement of this editorial is to tell you do not be afraid to do mix patterns together because you will always be surprised by the final result!

Bravo!

Ray of Inspirology: Crystal Renn for Vogue Mexico April 2011

Congrats to Crystal Renn for scoring the cover on Vogue Mexico!

This stunning editorial is shot by David Roemer and I am loving all the shots. Crystal looks so beautiful through Roemer's lens the colors on the clothes match so well with her skin tone. I have to admit, the first photo below is one of my favorite photos of this year so far!

This is an absolutely stunning series! Bravo!

Ray of Inspirology: Jimmy Choo S/S 2011 Promotion Campaign

If you know the photographer for the campaign is the duo Inez & Vinoodh, then most likely you will expect something bold and edgy.

Jimmy Choo has picked Inez & Vinoodh to shoot the S/S 2011 campaign featuring Crystal Renn. The color is so vibrant and it brings life to the whole campaign. I am liking the two tone background and I think using Crystal Renn for this campaign is such a brilliant choice. Crystal never fail to impress the audience and with this amazing campaign, she proves to us why she will be staying in this industry for a long time! Bravo work to both Crystal and Inez & Vinoodh!

Ray of Inspirology: La Panthere Ose

Ah Crystal Renn, this can't be you right?

In the latest issue of Vogue Paris, guest editor Tom Ford has shot a very edgy editorial featuring Crystal Renn. The shoot is all about plastic surgery and I am loving the story telling of this series. Props must go to Carine Roitfeld because the fashion pieces on Crystal are stunning! Because of the lighting, Crystal really looks like a plastic doll here and the photo which she is wrapped by a plastic bag really creeps me out. The style of this shoot is very Tom Ford and since I am always a fan of his works, I enjoy this editorial a lot.

What do you think? Is it too creepy for your taste?

Ray of Inspirology: Bal Masqué

This issue of Vogue Paris has just blown me away with some great editorials!

This spread is shot by Mert and Marcus and features super models such as Lara Stone, MariaCarla Boscono, Freja Beha, Dahpne G and Crystal Reyn. Carine Roitfeld deserves a lot of props for doing such a flawless job styling the models! The blackand white effect is giving me the retro and timeless feeling of the set.

What a great way to celebrate this magazine's 90 years anniversay!

Ray of Inspirology: David Sims for French Vogue

Since it is the beginning of the F/W season now, every magazine is working hard to showcase the best of each fashion house and this time, it is French Vogue's turn.

David Sims has shot roughly 60 shots for this issue of French Vogue and the feature models are Crystal Renn, Iselin Steiro, Freja Beha Erichsen, Daria Werbowy, Jac Jagaciak, Frida Gustavsson, Joan Smalls, Aline Weber and Isabeli Fontana. David Sims is able to capture the essence of each fashion house by having the models wearing those stunning pieces. My favorite will have to be the Viktor and Rolf one because I can never imagine that piece can create such a dramatic vibe for the photo.

Here are some of my favorites and you can click here for the rest of the set.

Ray of Inspirology: Size Matters

I do find it challenging when it comes to a plus size model shoot and I am constantly looking for inspiration to make this kind of shoot to look tasteful and edgy.

In the latest issue of Tush, Armin Morbach has done a great editorial shoot featuring Crystal Renn. The photos are very tasteful and now I have a better understanding on how to pose the model. I guess this is the rule of thumb for this kind of shoot: Angle matters.

Here are some of my favorites.
