Ray of Inspirology: Bottega Veneta S/S 2012 Campaign

The main idea for this campaign is: Simple is key.

Jack Pierson shoots the Bottega Veneta S/S 2012 campaign and it features Karmen Pedaru, Liya Kebede, Alex Cunha. There is nothing really fancy in this shoot (except the clothes) and I like the setting a lot. The campaign generally has a very natural feeling which I think is a good thing, at least this shows sometimes you don't need to make the photos surreal in order to consider them as high fashion photos.

Ray of Inspirology: Balenciaga F/W 2011 Promotion Campaign

Balenciaga always gives me a very elegant but modern, slightly futuristic feeling so I always hope photographers can capture this essence for the brand's promotion campaign. Fortunately, Steven Meisel has aced it in this F/W campaign.

The models in this campaign include Liya Kebede, Milou Van Groesen, Carla Gebhart, Juliane Grüner and Liisa Winkler. I like the contrast between the images in each ad as one side is so classy and elegant, while the other side is modern and futuristic. I find everything just works perfectly here. What do you think?

Ray of Inspirology: I Like Mint Flavour Lip Gloss

Honestly, I don't see how the title relates to this spread, but regardless, the photos are beautiful here.

This spread is shot by Danielle & Iango and it is featured in the latest issue of i-D. The models here are Carmen Kass, Natasa Vojnovic, Natasha Poly, Liya Kebede, Lily Donaldson, Guinevere Van Seenus, Joan Smalls, Missy Rayder, Julia Stegner, Karolina Kurkova, Danielle Z, Valerija Kelava, Lindsey Wixson and Lui Wen. The series is in black and white and every single model looks very sexy here. Somehow, this spread reminds me of those modeling agencies' packages, don't you think so?

Ray of Inspirology: Push It Real Good

Recently, I am really in love with all the editorial shoots that Josh Olins has done and in the latest issue of V Magazine, he has Liya Kebede and Lily Donaldson in this shoot. I like the bold and edgy feeling from these photos and even though the background is still white, this shoot has a totally different mood than the Benetton campaign (that one is happier, this one is more serious).
