Graphicology: Haute Couture Illustrations by Ignasi Monreal

I love Ignasi Monreal's works. The illustrations are always so lively and surreal and he can always capture the essence of the collections. His latest series on V Magazine Spain is all about the F/W Haute Couture collection.

I really like the imaginary of each image as it truly reflects what each brand is all about. The flower head on the Christian Dior piece can reflect the atmosphere of the runway show and the snake head on the Atelier Versace piece is adding a kick to the outfit. Of course, how can I not love the Chanel piece? The image is so dreamy to a point I feel like the girl is from fairytale land like Narnia!

I am excited to see what's the next series he is going to create!

Ray of Inspirology: The Business of Being Paris

I could never imagine Paris Hilton could look like this. My jaw just dropped.

In the latest issue of V Magazine, the dynamic photography duo Daniele + Iango has shot a black and white series featuring Paris Hilton. When I first looked at the photos, I could not recognize Paris Hilton at all since she looked so different here. The shots are very powerful and classy and if this is the new transformation of Paris, I would totally love to keep an eye on her on my radar. What do you think?

Ray of Inspirology: Ode Couture

Nick Knight has took the blurry images to a whole new level!

In the latest issue of V Magazine, Ming Xi is posed in front of Knight's camera to do some amazing blurring images. First of all, I am in love with the black background because this can make the fashion pieces stand out. Then, as I mentioned earlier, I am loving the blurry effect in the images. The whole series looks so soft and artistic to me and I have to say the colors do help to create this dreamy vibe. What do you think?

Ray of Inspirology: Strictly Carolyn

If I could change the title of this editorial, I would change it to Hair Focus Session.

This black and white editorial is featured in the latest issue of V Magazine and it is shot by Danielle & Iango. Even though the clothes are nice, my eyes are constantly stuck on Carolyn Murphy dramatic hair style. She does look fierece and I have to say the hair style does help enhance that look. As for the photo processing technique, the sharpening technique is well used here. What do you think?

Ray of Inspirology: Megabytes of Spring

Technology can really open a new way for us to read editorials.

Recently I have found this interesting editorial on V Magazine website and it is shot by Pamela Reed + Matthew Rader. The models here are  Chantal Stafford Abbott, Martyna Budna, Edythe Hughes, and Olga Cerpita and they are styled by Jessica Bobince. Here, the models are wearing some of the most colorful S/S 2011 pieces and because this is an animated series, it is very fun to see the models do some random actions in some of the animated photos. I am looking forward to see more editorials like this in the near future (few photos do give me good laughs). If you click the photos, you will be able to see the animation version. Ray of Inspirology: Charlotte in Couture

After seeing this editorial by Willy Vanderperre, I don't think age matters anymore for modeling.

This spread is featured in the latest issue of V Magazine and the model is Charlotte Rampling. Charlotte is wearing different couture pieces in this series and she looks absolutely amazing. With the black and white effect, the whole shoot looks very classy and glamours. Once again, age is no longer a determine factor for modeling after seeing such a great editorial.

Another news related to the alphabet V is the look book photos of the GAP x Valentino collaboration. The capsule collection is very Valentino with the use of ruffles and bows. Sadly, this collection is only available in Europe (maybe you can try ebay). [Read Here]

Ray of Inspirology: Ave Maria!

This editorial definitely gives the Mexican and retro vibe to me. Mario Testino has done a new editorial with Daria Webowy in the latest issue of V Magazine and the photos are very bold and there is a sense of intensity in it. I love how the light has created some dramatic effects in this shoot and also Daria's pose has made me want to see more from her in this shoot. Overall, I think this issue of V Magazine is worth to get it in physical print because there are already 2 editorials I like from it.

Ray of Inspirology: Push It Real Good

Recently, I am really in love with all the editorial shoots that Josh Olins has done and in the latest issue of V Magazine, he has Liya Kebede and Lily Donaldson in this shoot. I like the bold and edgy feeling from these photos and even though the background is still white, this shoot has a totally different mood than the Benetton campaign (that one is happier, this one is more serious).

Ray of Inspirology: Dakota Fanning for V Magazine

The latest issue of V Magazine (size issue) features 2 covers: Gabourey Sidibe and Dakota Fanning and I personally have a deeper connection with Dakota when I look at both set of photos. Dakota has finally grown up in front of the public eyes and she looks so elegant in this shoot. This shoot is done by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin and the photos are courtesy of V Magazine.
